Hey Bobby,

Quick timeline question: the recent Pepperoni back up, any thoughts on placement?

Right now I have it right after #66, assuming Alopex spent some time in NYC before going on her Northampton retreat. Angel's line about her loving Pepperoni so much doesn't really work otherwise right?

Well, I don't think you need to spend much time with Pepperoni to fall for the lil' gal pretty hard. But yeah, after TMNT #66.

Oh yeah, there was a very small question I had about the Pepperoni thing. Why did she dream of the turtles in all red masks when she's only seen the color coded ones?

You'd have to ask Sophie, but I don't think there's any deep meaning behind it.

Pepperoni likes Raph the best so she thinks they should all wear red, she doesn't understand why they would have other colors; and I thought it would be funny if in her dreams she imagines them like Mirage style because she wants to be all badass, so it's a double joke about the red masks.

Does any IDW TMNT merchandise exist? Such as coffee cups, shirts or action figures. Does IDW have the rights to make TMNT merch based from the comics?

No, we don't have the license for anything like that. Just comics.

Could IDW artists that sell prints, pages, and covers also put their art on shirts? Such as Freddie taking one of his TMNTU covers he did and putting it on a shirt for sale. He does sell the original art.

This is a grey area that I am in no way an expert on. I only have a general sense that artists can't mass market items featuring identifiable characters they don't own.

Okay I figured as much. But worth a shot in asking. Was hoping you might say "oh we have stuff in the works currently." Guess I won't be getting a Pepperoni & Raph T-shirt from Sophie anytime soon. Or anything from Freddie's work. Thanks though for quick answers.

Well you have the boardgame...and the last videogame was IDW inspired at least.

We do have the board game license. And if people want to be inspired by our product, hey, that's great! There's an upcoming Ninja Notes where I state that i'd love a Herman the Hermit Crab action figure (not to mention a Hob and Pete and Toad Baron and etc!)

I think all Video Games, Movies, and TV should be inspired by the IDW Comics, which should be the standard.

AGREED; I'd love to see most of the IDW-based characters as action figures (particularly Old Hob, Alopex, Kitsune, Herman, Koya and Bludgeon)
