Store closed at 7pm and I'm not due in to work until 2pm tomorrow. And then for some reason it closes at 6pm tomorrow night, so not only did I get a short day today (was in at 2pm), but a slightly shorter one tomorrow. And then off on Saturday (for once). A couple lighter days then a day off has been needed.

So I lucked out and won't have to be in bed early tonight and will be able to catch a good portion of the Mummers parade, including the big stuff at night. (And high five to any who have any clue what that is and are probably from my region. )

One of my clients gifted my wife and me with a bottle of blueberry wine, so that's pretty kick-ass.

What made me happy today.... On my way home from an unexpected extra trip to the store, I stopped to pick up lunch from Arby's, and the guy who came in behind me offered to pay for my order! Didn't know him, but I guess he must have wanted to do something nice since I had a bunch of grocery bags with me and it was clear that I was walking- he had pulled into the parking lot in a truck pulling a livestock trailer when I was walking up to the door. It was a pleasant surprise, and much appreciated.

Even though today was my last day cleaning for a cat adoption center I volunteer at, I had a pretty good one out of it.

I had my last adoption, and then I got to see one of the last kittens I raised. She seemed pretty pleased to see me, and she sat on my shoulders most of the time. According to the lady who runs that organization, she's made a pretty good habit out of sitting on her shoulders while she does dishes.

A couple little matted prints I'd looked a couple times last year at a craft store (but didn't buy) were now on clearance and 60% off. Finally got them and glad I waited.

Also the store had inexpensive TMNT shirts, so that also a must have. Even had one (and just a couple left) aimed at girls in the little kid sizes. By which I mean they were of course pink, but it's nice to see the store recognize that girls are fans too.

1/4 - A book I grabbed from eBay came in the mail. Vintage TMNT pop-up book.

Today's episode of Steven Universe.

So much made me feel a little less crummy. Peridot...keep growing, you little shipper noodle.

Not a bit of Pearl getting emotionally wrecked and only one peak of sh*t going down. What a nice way to end a StevenBomb.

Was bored at work and sometimes it's fun to see if products have interesting color names or whatnot, so I was checking out a few of the names on the bath towels I was straightening up. Gray ones I kinda like are labeled as "Iron Gate" (cool ), but I had to laugh when some off-white, cream colored ones turned out to be named "Vanilla Ice." So that gave me a laugh. Wonder if it even occurred to them. Wonder if the Vanilla Ice would go out and own a set if he knew. lol

I do that with paint color samples. I actually collect them for use as reference when I want to describe a certain shade for color descriptions of objects in my writing. Some of the names are really creative or original. I have a file on my PC for cataloging the good ones. It's been very helpful!

Ah, that's pretty clever!

I love some of the names they come up with for this stuff.

Happy maker... had grabbed a few other TMNT goodies off of ebay, three of the "martial arts training" comic issues and a cute Halloween book with the 2003 Turtles, and the Halloween book (who's tracking never registered other than the first post office getting it, so I had no idea if it was even moving) and the second of the comics showed up today. The third was possibly expected as well, but guess that will be Monday; will give me something to look forward to another day.

I got those martial arts training books for Christmas, Indigo. They're awesome!

Watching Jaws with my boyfriend and getting to be lazy as hell on my day off is really nice.

They really are! Was never really a comic collector, but I love stuff that's a little different and they fit the bill well.

Gotta get me some more of that goodness. My booze of choice.

I had a pretty good day with my parents. They went with me to the student orientation at my college, and then we watched the new Star Wars. It was a good day.

If you like Irish Cream, but wish it had a bit more cinnamon, can I suggest you give Rumchata a try? SO GOOD!
(provided you like Horchata, on which it's based)

Today's What Made Me Happy was that I had $11 in CVS extra care bucks, with which I bought a whole lot of ice cream.

I've never had Horchata, actually, but from the looks of what I've googled, I'm not sure it would be up to my pallet. All I need in my Irish cream is a couple cubes of ice

Cool! I'm expecting a TMNT ebay order as well. I found the Battle Nexus Mikey, and he should be here soon. Only down side is he is coming from Britain, so the shipping was hella high. Found Bn Leo and Don, too, but missed out due to only having enough spare in my account to get one. Hopefully the others will show up again soon, though- I want to get the whole set! (Also found a Turtle Titan Mike, and he's still on my watch list.)
