Take with a grain of salt here, but it's being claimed that the new Director General of the BBC is cranking down on a lot of left-leaning BBC programming (largely comedies and panel shows) and he also wants to put Doctor Who under review.
Chris Chibnall is also receiving notes from meetings with higher-ups in regards to how to handle the show that are displeasing him On top of that, nothing much is going on with production for series 13 due to a combination of adjusting to these notes, scripts not being completed on time, the Covid pandemic, and Jodie opting to start production on a seperate crowd-funded film project that will require her for the rest of the year...which will only fuel further speculation she secretly exited the show months ago. https://twitter.com/Eddie_At_Skaro/s...73722918887429
