Nelson's collection

Well, finally I'm comfortable with the way I've displayed my collection. I still have some non-TMNT figures and accesories stored away, I'll add them later (doing this takes time.) Check it out:

Thanks, man! Yeah, it's important to keep the display clean... or at least fake it, heh.

The last batch of pics (for now)

Thank you guys for your replies!

The bases are Protech Vintage. A tip I got from forum member jimmyjams some time back. The pegs fit the holes in the TMNT figs, however the baste is a little small as you can see, so most of the figures that use it have a foot over the base and the other foot outside of it. I'm pretty sure I've seen (probably in this same forum) a different type of base that work on these figures but that is a liittle bigger and thus looks better, but I have no idea how are they called. McFarlane perhaps?

I too would like to know where to get about 100 of those figure bases.

Also, where did you get the cabinets? They look wonderful!

Thanks again for all the kind replies, guys.

I forgot to mention that I bought the bases from a Ebay seller. Right now I don't remember the name of the store, but I'm sure you could find it easily doing a search with "protech vintage clear." To save money, I'd recommend buying bases just for the figures that really need it, as most of the TMNT figs can stand on their own.

The cabinets are custom made, as we don't have Ikeas over here. Believe me, it would have been way easier, faster and cheaper to buy some from Ikea. Oh well. Instead, I took the measurements, contracted a carpenter to make the particle board/formica part, then bought the glass, and finally bought and installed the lights (all with professional help.) If anyone is interested on making similar cabinets, I can give you some pointers, as I learned a couple of things after the whole thing was done. I can help you avoid the rookie mistakes I made.

The acrylics "steps" (they aren't really steps tho, more like bridges) are also custom made. I chose a sheet of 1/5" of thickness.

About the collection, I tend to pick and choose what I buy, resulting in many incomplete collections, heh. But I'm fine with that. I don't think I've ever completed a line (except for Castlevania, unless you count that pixelated mini Belmont NECA did back then.) Jack of all trades, master of none.

I'm happy with my TMNT collection as it is right now. The only figure I really feel I'm lacking is Super Shredder. I'm lacking some accesories here and there but It doesn't bug me. I cheated a little too: the weapons on the Toon Turtles are from the Mutations ones (that I used to have... I don't know where they are now.)

The bad thing of having so many figures on display is that too often I find myself looking at them like a zombie, lol.
