I at least like the 'calm down it was *quickly checks and changes the setting* it was set to stun'.

It breaks my heart that CBS thinks this is what Trek fans wants.
Fvck this.

agreed...but honestly, it's not the WORST thing I've seen come out of star trek, so it should be better than discovery as a non cannon one off.

I've been open to the idea somewhat since I enjoy Rick & Morty... but if this trailer represents what it's going to be, that is painfully unfunny.

New clip... How sad is it that this depicts reckless, impulsive behaviour as more of a bad thing than what the last few movies, STD and Picard ever did?

The Critical Drinker gave me a few chuckles with his review of the series. Adult language is prevalent in there.

Saw the first episode. It is very much Rick & Morty by way of Star Trek... trying really hard to be funny but is painfully unfunny. And I love Rick & Morty and find that show super funny. Not even a chuckle here from me.
Yeah. Pretty sad that they think this is what people want.

I liked the idea of the show (mainly because of McMahan?s TNG Season 8 parody account) but seeing it in action I agree - I?m not sure Trek is set up for the Rick & Morty / Solar Opposites treatment. I?ll keep watching to see if it finds its footing though.
I liked it more than Discovery and Picard. |

The first episode was a little better on a second viewing but it is true that there are many jokes that don't land. The biggest problem aside from that is that the characters aren't particularily well defined aside from Boimler and Mariner so far.
It's a little sad to think that this Rick and Morty clone is the best Star Trek CBS All Access has made after three years, especially when it just seems mediocre so far. |

Just finished the 2nd episode. I HATE the Boimler/Mariner dynamic. It's one joke told 17 different ways per episode. I much prefer the stuff with Tendi and Rutherford. So far, all these CBS All Access Treks are making me want to do is rewatch TNG.

I'd be way more into a satire of Star Trek if JJ and Klukzman hadn't been already doing that since 2009.

Wouldn't it be interesting if with Orville being canceled after season 3 it lead to Seth McFarlane being brought in to work on Lower Decks season 2?

Meh. I'd rather see him STD or STP, to try and save those ships.

Doubtful Seth could work on anything Trek related after he signed his big deal with Universal. |

Yeah, I heard the rumors of Orville's cancellation may be greatly exaggerated...after i posted that.

Is it sad that The Orville is probably the best take on the Star Trek genre in over a decade?

This show really grew on me as the season progressed. Still don’t like Mariner especially her dynamic with Boimler but I liked everything else.
I figured we’d be getting that TNG character at some point so happy it happened in the finale (won’t spoil for those who haven’t watched yet) Also liked the dig at JJ in last weeks episode with the lens flares. |
