I've owned a few of NECA's quarter-scale figures (or "eighteen-inch" figures, in the case of Gipsy Danger), and they are masterpieces. Half-again larger than Hot Toys, and yet substantially less than half the price. They look great, they're nicely articulated, they photograph magnificently, plus they're very eye-catching on a shelf.
Spoiler:
I understand people preferring a smaller scale, but I am all in on these NECA '90 Jim Henson figures. The one-per-quarter pacing makes it affordable for me, too. It means NECA is going to get literally all my hobby money for a year, but I am okay with that. Last edited by Monte Williams; 02-13-2016 at 04:06 PM. |

NECA's quarter-scale Bilbo is awesome, too, although he's twelve inches tall despite being quarter-scale.
Spoiler:
Arguably even better is their Gollum: Spoiler:
I can't wait to photograph that Donatello! Last edited by Monte Williams; 02-13-2016 at 04:05 PM. |

After being disappointed in the statues based on this incarnation, I am pleasantly surprised with these. They absolutely nailed the look and I feel these are must buys. Will Neca now have produced the two best sets of TMNT figures to date? Yes, I think so anyways.

Randy is hinting all over Twitter that there will be more --
"$100 for the Q scale TMNT" "There will be a LOT more" This leads me to believe that they may do these in another scale and/or have other Tmnt stuff planned. |

What if they do life sized kind of like some of the Star Wars stuff? A part of me would want to see it but a big part of me wouldn't. The price tag would scare me.

WOW! That is a phenomenal sculpt. Damn shame they aren't standard action figure size though. Might have to get at least one of these bad boys.

They need to just take my money. I'm selling out Mondo figs for these. Holy crap! I don't get all the crying about the scale. You know they will make them in 1/10 scale. I don't have any 1/4 but I'm totally in. Welcome back to TMNT NECA!

I love NECA. They always nail likenesses. Each time another company releases prototype pictures, we fans have to resort to photoshop and go "please change this or that". Not with NECA.*
Regarding the size, I don't think there's anything to worry about. I would say there's is a high chance we will see these sculpts in 7" down the line. But in any case, if you really like this Don, go ahead and get it. Even if they announce a smaller version down the road, I guarantee you won't regret having bought the 18" version. I say this based on my own experience with the 1989 Batman figure. * Except years ago with the first TMNT set, but they listened, didnt they. |
