ToSte Kustom TMNT
Most of these have been posted here and there but I don't think I've had a consolidated thread, so here goes:
I'm not sure what you call the style of these three, I guess I was going for kind of an anime look or something. Smooth and limited details: Back when I was into MiniMates I did a Casey and a couple of the Turtles. I'm not sure what I did with the Turtles, but I don't think I ever finished them. I made this cover using the Raph figure. Here's a Slash I did with the intention of selling so I could get the wife something decent for our anniversary. Yes I feel dirty and cheap. The buyer asked that I paint the nails black. So if you ever see him on the net with black nails, that's the same one. Like a lot of you I have a bunch of POS figures. I thought I'd paint a few just for the hell of it. This is the only one I actually got around to: |

This was sort of an imitation/jab at Playmates re-use of vehicle parts. I tried to keep it as simple as the old toys and make it look like something Playmates would have put out back in the day. I just recently made the stickers for it which really finish it off, kinda went for a graffiti look. I guess the idea is it's a street vehicle that Bebop and Rocksteady can run around in rather than have to drill holes through the earths crust everywhere. Something B n R would have slapped together.
A pumpkin I carved a couple of 'weens ago. It's a custom pumpkin, right? I was into these perler bead things for a while. They're good for making sprite art. Yes, Rocksteadys coloring is a bit off, no idea why I did that. |

This is something I just finished this month. I'm big into hot rods and the whole kulture. Huge fan of Ed Roth, so this was done in attempt to rip off his style. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I always hated the pizza throwing turtles, but with the bulging eyes and veins and bony hands it just fit perfectly for this. When I was planning it out I noticed that the same year the pizza throwers came out was the same year that the Party Hearty Wacky Wagon was supposed to be released. I don't think it's a coincidence.
That's it for now. Questions, comments, and critiques are welcome. |
