Classics Shredder not actually gonna happen then?

Was looking forward to this guy. Then I find out that this line is on hold. Or is it? I'm sure he would be a favorite toy for a lot of people. I'm talking about the big guy, would probably be a 7 incher in height. Maybe we can get some support for this guy and get him released somehow.

Saves me 20 to 30 dollars. Didn't know this was common knowledge. Canceled then. Did we at least get a picture of a painted prototype? I seem to remember these solid white sculptures.

I highly doubt they'll actually move forward with the Classics line if TMNT 2 half-shell boogaloo goes well. It's just empty talk.

They were way too small anyway and no doubt Playmates would have compromised the quality everywhere they could to save money too.

A high-quality 6 or 7-inch collector TMNT line, strictly accurate to the cartoon and with extensive depth of characters and a regular release schedule would be amazing, but it's pretty clear Playmates never had any intention of doing that. So in terms of their inconsistent, inaccurate, poor-quality line - good riddance I say.

I agree Playmates suffers from talking out of their ass syndrome

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The current planned scale for the First Gokin Shredder is far too big to work with the Classic Collection Turtles, here's a mockup:

It really is tragic that all these years since the show aired we still don't have high-quality, properly-scaled, cartoon-accurate figures of even just the main characters.

But, it's still a printed prototype. So they can be sensible and scale him down, I'd like to hope so at least...

It would be amazing if they could shrink it down (around 85% would be perfect IMO) and cut some of the overly-stylized (i.e. non-cartoon) details. Here's a 85% re-sized mockup for people not following the other thread:

That figure looks nice but I would like something closer to the original cartoon Shredder.

Since First Gokin called their Krang figure Cerebral and had made stylized changes to him, I assume they are doing so to skirt around copyright laws but it is pretty blatant. For this reason I assume that shredder will still keep these stylized adjustments to try to continue to stay off the radar of the licence holders. Of course assigning model numbers of NT-01 and NT-02 probably isn't the best way to stay off the radar as NT clearly stands for Ninja Turtles.

Ok now I'm confused. The thread title reads "classic shredder" which I take as a reference to the classic 1989 (reproduction included) shredder. Looking into this here seems more like conversation about the NT-x productions.

Now here's my question: Really? We won't see those anymore? I mean that would explain why there are no NT-01's to find on ebay except for one that's gone mad with the price. I didn't even know those aren't licensed at all. Quite of a situation without a license :/

The title refers to the newly sculpted & highly articulated figures from Playmates, it is those that were cancelled, not First Gokin's.
