Waxwork Records TMNT III Score on Vinyl (2023)

Not sure if anyone caught this, but for those of us who have been collecting the John Du Prez vinyl releases of the original '90s movie trilogy ... they confirmed the third movie (which was already leaked by Du Prez a few years ago) is coming out.

Quote:
We grew up watching TMNT cartoons and movies, collecting classic TMNT toys, and reading TMNT comics while listening to heavy metal. Working closely with TMNT co-creator @kevineastmantmnt to release the official TMNT movie soundtracks has been an absolute honor. Look out for re-pressings of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze, and a first ever release of TMNT 3 coming in 2022!

Weird that they're going for 2022 and not the 30th anniversary in 2023. That said, with how much SOTO got delayed ... it'll end up being a 2023 release probably anyway.

New artwork posted for what I’m sure is the cover for TMNT III score on vinyl.

https://twitter.com/waxworkrecords/s...375925253?s=21

Looks like it WILL be a 2022 release. Here’s hoping they at least got Tarzan Boy on there! I kind of doubt it though.

Welp, that ended up not happening lol.

If anything — makes more sense to get it out this time on the actual 30th anniversary like they did with SOTO. Waxwork posted their new calendar and it includes the full colored artwork TMNT III.

I wonder what kind of colored variant they're going to go with this LP. Hoping there's a preorder soon.

My recollection of this score is that it's actually kinda bad, with the exception of Yoshi's Theme. Hopefully listening to it isolated from the movie proves me wrong.

Now that NECA released the TMNT 2 Turtles, I've been pondering if they'll bother with TMNT 3. Honestly hope they do the Turtles in the samurai armor.

Like it's accompanying movie soundtrack, a lot of TMNT III's score seemed super cobbled together ... but I think there were some feudal Japan moments that sounded nice. It'll be interesting to hear what stuff was maybe cut out or potential extended pieces.

Totally. I laugh at it and enjoy it in an ironic sense to an extent — the concept of "Turtles in Time" is a good one, even though the execution let the movie down.

With NECA hopefully putting out honor guard Turtles and the score coming out as well, I'm all for embracing TMNT III's as well!

You can actually see some pieces of the armor and the heads of TMNT III Turtles in a photo NECA posted awhile back. I know there's a link to it in the NECA movie thread. Randy answered my question on Twitter last summer and it sounds like we're getting another VHS set. When though is anyone's guess. Hopefully they announce it soon.

Looks like TMNT II is getting a newly colored reissue. It looks great, too.

Hopefully some news about TMNT III comes out soon.

They have been! I really loved how Secret of the Ooze turned out. Though I wondered which will be the actual cover. The image they showed on the calendar was what I thought was teased to be the LP's cover, and I wouldn't be surprised if that recent image was inside the gatefold like SOTO.

While I would love for different variant pressings, I have a feeling they'll stick to just the color they just showed as the only retail release like they did for SOTO.

TMNT I and II are set to get repressings too so I'm interested to see what the TMNT I variant is.
