A sad day indeed. I met Stan once, back in the '90s when I was 16 years old at a comic con. He was very friendly and open to sign as many comics as I wanted, and even cracked a few jokes. He shook my dad's and my hand, and was smiling the whole time. His personality made him the perfect spokesperson for Marvel.
It's a sad year as we lost both Stan and Steve Ditko this year. May they both rest in peace. |

As long as they're not resting beside each other, that's probably a safe bet.

Without these superheroes, we would probably not have the TMNT.

Stan Lee has made a huge impact in our lives. He has created characters that have resonated with everyone. His legacy will live on with his creations.

Sense Stan Lee helped create Daredevil there is a chance that you are right. TMNT was inspired by Frank Miller's version of DareDevil.

This is probably the saddest news I've heard in a long time. Never even met the man, but I've always admired him from the first time I knew who he was. Spider-Man was and still is my first love in comics, along with the FF, Avengers, and so many others he created. This news breaks my heart.
One of the things I will remember most is having ALMOST had the chance to work with him on a web-comic back around 2007 or so, if memory serves. There was a contest to write a synopsis and sample pages of your own vision for a concept he had developed for a web-comic series, which was to be judged by him. The winner would get to co-write the comic with Stan. I submitted an entry, and though it wasn't chosen, I feel honored to know that Stan had at least read something I wrote. That's not something everyone can say. It was called The Seekers, for those who are curious to look it up.

Read that they pre-recorded his cameos already that could last a few more years. Good.

Yeah I was happy to hear that. I think Captain Marvel, Avengers, and Spider-man Far from home are all pretty much wrapped up or already in post production so he will have cameos in those movies, but I am wondering how many more cameos they have already recorded after that already?

Rest in peace. His best cameo was in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

Oh boy, that had the same energy as that one Cartoon Network commercial on Nickelodeon
"This is a DC movie?!" Well, it's a shame it's happened now. I was quietly hoping he'd make it to 100.

Or at least long enough to see Avengers 4...

I found out about his passing at my job I got a notification from The Washington Post on my phone.
It felt surreal to read the WP post at first, but as the other stories were blogged regarding his life, I felt somewhat better about getting to know some things about him. |

I just found out the sad news. All I have to say is thank you, Stan Lee, for creating your great characters. You made my childhood happy. Rest in peace. My deep condolences to the Lee family.

Confirmed: cameos in A4 and Captain Marvel were both completed. Also "a good surprise" is alluded to (i.e., a nod to the rumors he shot a bunch of random cameo stuff that could slide into any future movies for decades):
http://www.darkhorizons.com/marvels-...n-lees-impact/ If he spent a day or two in front of a greenscreen just doing random bits... who knows?

I think it would be cool to see Stan brought into the Marvel universe, whether that is the comics or the movies.
Even if it's only alluded to, in some higher-dimension-Grant Morrison-type way, I think it'd be cool to have Stan be the in-universe creator of the Marvel universe. |

Welll he lived a long life and stayed healthy and fit through it all. I hope I'm that fortunate if I reach 95. R.I.P. Stan Lee.

What if Marvel Studios were to continue doing Stan Lee cameos. But it would be a CGI Stan Lee. Would that be going to far?

Well I don’t know. I’m at least one, and I want it. Far be it for me to think I’m the only one who ever dreamt it up.
