Tengu Shredder/Chaka-Hachi Similarity?

Say, after re-watching a few OT and 2k3 episodes, I noticed a few similarities between the one-shot villain Chaka-Hachi from the OT episode 'Farewell, lotus blossom', and the Tengu Shredder. Both were powerful arcane enemies, who conjured up enemies from feudal japan, while turning New York into a feudal Japanese city, with causing large amount of destruction with their god-like magical powers. Did anyone else notice this similarity in these two villain's attacks?

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

Um, yeah. I mean I see what you're saying. Though I doubt that the demon Shredder was based off that guy from the original cartoon.

An ancient Japanese ghost from feudal Japan conjuring up dead spirits to fight with him is a pretty common trope in fiction. Literally anything you see in kids cartoons has already been done in books, movies, or old TV shows decades ago.

yeah, they both did that when they showed up in NYC. Chaka-hachi turned it into the world of his past to continue the search for his wife, and the tengu shredder Started to turn NYC into a nighmarish version of ancient Japan when he invaded.

"The Aladdin transforms the world after his own image" is a fairly common trope.

Wonder if Donatello explained what Chakahachi did with "optical illusions".
