Is the Agent Ravenwood potentially most interesting character in the IDW-Universe?

Ok, maybe not.

But she's definitely the most interesting original character in the IDW-Universe.

First. She has a mysterious and tragic origin.
Who is she? What was her first name? How did she get to the EPF? How does she know Bishop's father? Why did she consent to participate in that experiment? We do not know anything about her early life.

Also, we know very little about the experiment, which turned her into a mutant. But for Ravenwood it was, obviously, a physical and psychological trauma. Just imagine - a young pretty girl turns into a strange awful creature with 5 heads and bodies consisting of ribbons of flesh. And it happened in the 50's. I'm sure she was locked in the laboratory for several decades before she was allowed to go out into the street, and then again become an agent.

Second. Her mutation is very, very, very strange.
Ribbons of flesh and heads. It's all. Where are the lungs? Where is the stomach? How this mutant can live? A Mutagen Man is also strange, but he has all the internal organs.

The Ravenwood's mutation reminded me Mantis from Avengers: Infinity War. Perhaps this is not just a genetic mutation? Perhaps this is a change in the space-time field?

Spoiler:

Third. Ravenwood has a lot of unusual super powers.
1. Very strong.
2. Elastic.
3. Feels mutants and (possibly) people.
4. Venom.
5. Immortality or regeneration.
Perhaps this is not all.

Fourth. This is a very strong character.
As I said, she suffered a very serious injury. But it did not break her. And it did not turn her on evil. On the contrary, she has adopted a new self and she is trying to use her new powers for good. Her unique position between people and mutants, as well as working for EPF, potentially makes her a very important character.

And the fifth. Ravenwood broke all stereotypes about such characters.
1st issue. “Oh, look, woman Hulk is hunting for Bebop and Rocksteady. It will be fun. A stupid, big & strong woman against stupid, big & strong mutants”. But Ravenwood opens her mouth. Wait, what? She's not stupid. She's smart. Hmm, already interesting. Oh, and she's also loyal to the mutants. Very, very interesting.

2nd issue. “Well, now we will see how she strong”. Wait, what? Elasticity? But how? We waited another power...

3rd issue. Elasticity, superpower, and feels mutants. “Ok, maybe Weaver tricked us. Maybe she will take the side of Bebop and Rocksteady and allow them to escape?” Wait, what? No, she understands that they are villains and she ready to stop them.

In each issues, we learn a small piece of information about Ravenwood and every new piece makes her an increasingly interesting character.

She definitely is the most interesting original character, yes!

I keep expecting her first name to be revealed as Marion.

She's cool and all, but she can't displace Old Hob at the top of the "most interesting IDW Original Character" charts.

Don't even think about it, baby turtle.

For me she's perhaps a little too interesting. But definitely a unique and curious standout of the series.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to see how IDW develops her in future issues, will she be Bishop's ally, adversary, or replacement?

I actually do feel more interested in where she's going in the story than Hob.

In a way, they're parallels and opposites to each other in a lot more ways than assumed superficially. And what's more...

Hob is more of the kind of mutant Ravenwood thought Bebop and Rocksteady were. He's more of her idea of a "confused animal lashing out in violence", but she probably won't recognize how much humanity there is in him now...as much as he would hate that and as much as Ravenwood would hate that Hob would refuse her help.

Obviously she's Bishop's enemy since they're trying to interfere with each other's work. I think she may somehow be helpful in stopping the EPF's invasion on Burnow. She might not have her full form, but she could still be capable of doing something; she still has power as a highly ranked and respected agent.

I'm very much hooked on where she's going and proud to say she's my favorite mutant. She's pretty f'ing cool.

Yes, she made quite an impression after only appearing in 5 issues back to back. She is also a great foil to Bishop.

If Bishop stays evil in this incarnation it makes sense for another EPF member to befriend the Turtles, which would be Ravenwood.

She could also have interactions with Leatherhead this way, too.

From Ben Bates twitter:

Q: Does Agent Ravenwood have a first name?

A: Yep! We've prepared some cool additional material and information on Ravenwood that will be included in the Hit the Road collection! Some questions will be answered! Some answers will turn into questions!

What issue/book does this character appear in? Thought I was caught up but apparently missed something. I stopped reading universe after about 15 issues.

If it's not your cup of tea, she'll probably make it worth it.

She's fantastic.

Not a lot of compelling human characters in this book are there? I kind of miss april and casey together surprisingly. Their plots are pretty boring without overlap.

I think April's getting really neat by playing Grima Wormtongue over Stockman's shoulder. We don't really know what her goals for him becoming mayor are yet, but it should be cool.

Some of the stories from this set do come from the last mini though.

Skyler Samuels could be the perfect choice for the role of Agent Ravenwood.
