TMNT Comic Release Dates

I thought the HC was being released at the same time as the comic editions. But, today the HC moved to Aug. 02 on the Diamond site so I guess maybe it is being released later.

On a related note, when IDW sent me all the cover images for TMNT/Usagi yesterday, there was only one image for the HC (the Regular cover). When I inquired about the Sakai Signature Variant version, they told me they didn't see it so weren't sure about its existence. Maybe Stan is doing this one on his own?

I ordered that Usagi hardcover for September, it was only $11.86 so you can't go wrong.

I ordered as soon as the listings appeared. Yeah the original date I have for the HC is 7/12. It's difficult not to feel like this is a bait and switch (maybe not the most accurate phrase) maneuver to get more upfront pre-sales. Or it got pushed back because not enough orders yet for a HC print run. But I'm a novice at such things so am certainly uncertain.

I'll make inquiries. So Stan's softcover version is still being printed via IDW and supplied back to him, a la you doing #73? Which is why it's in Diamond solicits.

I think it might be to reinvigorate interest in the "Tales of the TMNT" reprint line. Get new readers on board with something less intimidating than "Volume 9."

Uninformed casuals will buy it.

And the missing issues will confuse them.

And the odds are 90% they'll say "eh, screw this" and 10% they'll figure it out and buy more comics.

So yeah, really, no idea why IDW does this.

i'm just happy that the 'IDW Collection' hardcovers come out first, while those thick TPB come out way after.

It's easier to spend money on an upgrade HC with more content then go back and pickup a paperback. I think we are saying the exact same thing.

I can only speak for myself. I would have ended up owning both if released in opposite order. Now I am content with only having the Splinter HC vol 2.

I actually bought the Volumes TP before and now I'm buying the HC... if only I knew that they were going to do this from the start, I wouldnt have bought the TP... so yeah it sucks. Now I'm trying to sell my TP but I'm a french canadian and nobody cares about english TMNT over here but me...

i was buying the 4-issue collected TPB volumes before i purchased 'IDW Collection' HC volume.

there was no way in bloody blue blazes that i was going to buy the Shell Unleashed TPB.

i'm not even sure how the math will add up if those 'Shell Unleashed', Darkness Within' actually continue


Vol. 1 issues#1-12
Vol. 2 issues#13-24
Vol. 3 issues#25-36?
Vol. 4 issues#37-48? or a thicker volume containing #37-50?
