Zack Snyder Is Expected To Take A Backseat In DCEU Development

It's been well documented that Zack Snyder decided to hand the reigns of Justice League over to Joss Whedon following the tragic suicide of his daughter, Autumn, a few months ago, but a new report indicates that the director will also play a significantly smaller role in the DCEU as a whole moving forward.

Up until now, Zack Snyder and his wife, Deborah, had pretty much been the driving force behind Warner Bros.' burgeoning DC movie universe, but it looks like that's about to change.

According to Mashable, "the Snyders will no longer have anything like the level of creative influence that got the franchise to this point," with Whedon and Geoff Johns taking over as the "architects" of the DCEU.

The report does point out that the studio still maintains that "the Snyders remain an important part of the Warner Bros. family and are actively involved in several upcoming DC pictures," which contradicts Mashable's "multiple sources" with knowledge of the situation.

We'll just have to see how this shakes out, but there's no denying that this news is as likely to upset just as many people as it pleases.
