Care to elaborate on the playmates news? Are we gonna see a continuation of their classic line?

Given that Playmates is also focusing on "classic" TMNT in 2020, it makes sense Nick is putting all its eggs in the nostalgia basket moving forward when it comes to merchandise.

Trust me, I ain't complaining.

Check out the Rise thread a few pages back and the response someone got when they reached out to Playmates regarding the future of the line.

I want the slash from this set but is there anyway to remove the pixels from him? I will also be giving him his one yellow eye.

Goof off wipes might work.

I never tried the wipes before. I tried the liquid and that stuff eats through plastic.

That sounds like it would work. Do you dilute it 50% with water or more?

Test it on some fodder figure you don’t care about but I would start with 75/25.

Dude the details of NECA has always been amazing, I haven't pre-ordered any yet but I'm hoping to do so in this upcoming paycheck. I got my eyes on Donatello.

Bigbadtoystore.com doesn't require upfront payment.

Wave 2 will consist of Raph, Mikey, Leatherhead, and Shredder, launching May 2020.

Probably gonna fully skip this one (I was never a fan of Leatherhead's square pupils), but Shredder's effect parts are super neat.

I'm finding Shredder with a lightsaber and Turtles with hoverboards increasingly hard to resist.

Sorry I'm late to the party, but can anyone suggest a good place to find these?
Online, preferably, Ebay aside.

I think it's weird that all figures and accessories/weapons are sculpted smooth with a lot of detail, yet Leatherhead's weapon is weirdly cubic and pixelized. It seems super inconsistent. Go one way or the other.

I love the concept but I continue to hate that everybody's toys based on 8 and 16 bit sprites have to have random-ass pixel patterns. It looks fugly and Shredder's tunic is one of the worst I've seen.

Just give us the palettes, designs, and accessories.

This. I'd go in on these if not for that.

Not a fan of it myself. I'm sure it could look great with the right application, but I just think it makes for an ugly 2D to 3D transition.

I don't even care for the cel shading attempts on the toon-based turtles. Just makes it look weird (and bootleggy) from most viewing angles.

Leatherhead and Super Shredder for me. Shredder has a new head and new armor as compared to the SDCC one (besides the obvious paint changes).

I wish they went with gatefold boxes like the rest of their video game appearance line. These window boxes aren't doing much for me

I know we all love what NECA is doing with TMNT, but am I the only one who is getting tired of them releasing the same figures over and over with only a different color scheme or accessory?

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie Turtles get re-released again with SOTO accessories.

100% agreed. It will still feel like the video game without the ugly pixel deco.

Yeah, exactly. Not even just re-releasing the same figures, but overusing the same parts for different figures. There's so much re-use that it actually hinders the line overall. Penny pinching!

My bet is that the Secret of the Ooze turtles have exactly the same bodies but updated heads. And collectors will buy what is effectively 99% of the same figure a second time.

One thing about this wave that I find bizarre is that they're referring to this Shredder as "Super Shredder," despite the fact that it's obviously just regular Shredder with his beam sword from the arcade version rather than the more accurately Super Shredder from the SNES version. Considering this is the same company that bothered making two different Slash sculpts for accuracy, it's a very odd discrepancy.
