Live-Action Last Ronin movie in the works

Of course they start working on a R-rated movie as the Company as a whole is on the chopping block.

Hope this happens and is done without Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes

This is like... going too far in the other direction.

I just don't see The Last Ronin story having mainstream audience appeal. Hey look, all your favorite characters are dead. Here's a few that are old. And here's some you've never heard of. And the ending is sunshine and rainbows.

I guess I'll actually go to the theater, though.

Do a post-apocalyptic future R-rated Turtles tale on the big screen and then work backwards to get something like that of present day TMNT? ehhhh... maybe, I guess if that's the only option, but that still seems backwards.

Kinda hope they use Henson suits again and I like the idea of bringing back Elias Koteas as older Casey and Judith Hoag as Older April. Someone suggested that on Twitter.

This isn't Warner Brothers( The King of cancelling stuff) so I think this has a chance of happening

As most of the theatrical TMNT films have been bad, it's better that they swing for the fences than just do another safe, kid-friendly film.

It wont happen, but Id love for Steve Barron to return as director.

The only way this can get crazier is if they bring back Barron or base this off the 1990 film, which has actually been a trend.

Yeah, that could work. Make a Lost Ronin movie like a legacy sequel to TMNT 1990. Insert some flashbacks to the movie as Michelangelo remembers "the good old days." TMNT II and TMNT III never happened.

It wouldn't be my top choice but I'd take it. It could work.

like someone suggested on Twitter use Henson suits bring back Elias and Judith as Older April and Casey. I agree with this idea

It’s a good way to play the nostalgia angle, from a business standpoint. Look at No Way Home and it becomes the “safe” choice arguably.

Personally... I'd love for it to be a prequel film to the Last Ronin story.

Getting a more mature film (even just solid PG13 would be fine imo) and showing the world that the TMNT are not only some property for 7-year-olds would be fantastic. After 40 years they deserve that and if it happens then they better as hell hit a home run with it. BUT, while I enjoyed the Ronin story, I'm not crazy about something like this finally happening and then it's the story where the other 3 of them are dead. Plus Splinter and Casey. I would LOVE to see more of this Leo, Donnie, and Raph, but you know, alive. Not just as flashbacks or ghosts/figments of Mikey's imagination. If they bomb it and we then can't ever get a decent mature film that the other guys fully exist in, that'll suck.

Not going to hold my breath on it ever actually happening. Hell, it's hard not to be suspicious anymore that things like this are just false rumors. But if it happens, then it better be good and get that prequel...

Hope you guys need 5 more Mikey figures.

I don't even know where this R-rating thing is coming from. The book would barely even be considered that, if that. It's mostly Mike fighting the army of robots, right? It's just that by comparison to anything Nick has done with TMNT since 2009, Last Ronin suddenly seems like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The Lost Years prequel series was pretty graphic though; Mikey even beheaded a guy in issue #5.

I'm surprise that Nickelodeon are allowing it, Since they own the IP, Which means they won't be able to promote it due to it not being for kids.

I know a lot of people wanted this, But its such a huge gamble, Kids 13 and under won't be able to see it unless there are 17, But the parents will more then likely take the kids to see it, But it could potentially be too violent for children given the stigma of TMNT being a kids property.

I'm curious on how are they going to market this movie.

I doubt this will ever come out. What happened to the other live-action movie they were making? Was that canceled?

I remember we were getting both Mutant Mayhem and another live-action reboot, I guess the latter is done.
