funko

Will the funko universe comic be able to be purchased singularly in physical form or will we have to have to buy the collection for that?

Bobby, is there any chance we could get the backstory on any of the Pantheon members? For example, Chi-You's history in Chinese mythology where he fought a war against Huangdi (the yellow emperor), the founder of Chinese civilization and the first ruler of China. Or how Chi-you is supposed to be the ancestor of the Korean people. Those kinds of things would be interesting to delve into.

You'll be able to directly purchase the Regular and the Funko Toy Variant covers for the Funko Universe One-Shot. For the Incentive cover, you can't directly purchase it since it's only an incentive for buying a specified amount of the Regular covers (likely 10 or 25 copies). Your comic shop will be able to help you get it if they're willing to order that many copies.

You can see the covers for this so far here.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, or even if it's been asked before, but I figure here is as good as a place as any.

So in the comics each character is "colour coded" in their dialogue boxes so that readers can tell who is speaking at the time. Leonardo has blue, Michelangelo has orange, Raphael has red etc. The only exception to this rule seems to be Donatello, who has blue dialogue boxes instead of purple ones. Why is that? Is it because purple dialogue boxes look awkward? Personally, I find Donnie's dialogue boxes being blue being awkward since I mentally associate blue with Leo, so it takes my brain a few seconds to process "Nope that's not Leo talking, it's Donnie". Just thought I'd ask.

Yes, it will come out a normal floppy comic in May.

There's a possibility for that, yes, but can't say for sure.

Hey Bobby, can you shed a little light into why IDW decided to continue Metalhead's story rather than provide some sort of final closure to that?

I mean, obviously you guys see future story potential, but can you provide any details on the discussion that surrounded the decision for the story's end? Or was it always a sure thing that Metalhead's story would keep going?

Yeah, I just never see the point in ending a character's story if there's potential for more. I'd much rather keep a character active rather than killing them and then bringing them back to life. Metalhead is just now an actual character. Seems like an odd time to end his story to me.

Female Null and Female Jagwar... It didn't occur to me until just now, but I'm pretty sure that (aside from Manmoth and sort of Ray I guess) the only characters previously exclusive to the Archie series have been gender swapped.

When can we look forward to the female version of Toxzeem?

i took a closer look at one of Donatello's dialog boxes vs. Leonardo's.

to look at them at separate times they almost look identical.
but for instance ( Tmnt:Universe #8 ) if you flip between pages 19 and 20

Leonardo's dialog box looks 'baby blue
and Donatello's dialog has a slight more of a pastel lavender to it.

it's a very very subtle difference.

Just thought I would throw it out there, what about an "Almost Got'em scenario" where Splinter is their captive and they exchange stories of how they almost got their past pawns? A great arc in either book. It would work!

I'm not sure how I connected that to this, but I did

Seems like a conversation I'd expect from the Pantheon though.

Funny how just last Summer "And then I threw a Rocksteady at him" would've been a perfectly plausible line to find in this comic. Missed opportunity, guys!

We had a Turtles X In Space Power Rangers some time ago.

We had/are having Turtles X Batman crossovers.

We are having Power Rangers X Justice League.

And in Turtles Universe 8# the turtles got a mecha themselves (Bigger Metal Don. Works as a mini-zord ) (okay, this argument is really forced).

Can we have a IDW TMNT x Boom Studios Power Rangers or even a IDW TMNT X Boom Studios X Justice League crossover now?

Those deals are made above my pay grade, but speaking personally, I don't see any real appeal in a TMNT/Power Rangers crossover. Not my cup of tea, but that's just me.

I would love to see that as well because power rangers were the first thing to finally usurp tmnt as the in thing and tmnt is considered the thing that usurped ghostbusters it would make so much sense to do it. But it was kind of done already with the tmnt adventures comics written by Dan slott

  1. Will this be released as stand-alone issues?
  2. If so, how many parts?
  3. Seeing how season 5 is the final season, is there a limit how long this can last?
  4. We already know another show (Rise) will start airing once season 5 concludes. Any idea if there will be tie-in comics to that?
  5. Is Baxter back to his human form like in the show or is he still a fly in the comic's continuity?
  6. Who designed the Robotanimals? I really dig the robotic Leatherhead. If it was Chad Thomas, give him my reagards.

1 & 2. This will be a 3 part series starting in June!

3. This will be our last product in this continuity-- unless we do something unusual down the line.

4. Too early to say if we'll be doing anything with Rise.

5. Baxter is in fly form

6. Designs are all Chad!
