House Of The Blue Danube, by Malcolm MacLaren, the man responsible for The Sex Pistols (whose imagery & influence was all over the first film).

Just discovered that this is an actual song...and not something that was just released for the original 1990 trailer. This is so kick ass.

I was pretty shocked when I found out, as well. I just assumed it was the latter part of The Blue Danube with a beat layered on. I guess that's essentially what it is

I got the song off iTunes. I really like it. It was a great choice for the trailer. Speaking of which, long ago, I remember hearing a rumor that some of the music, the moody stuff at the beginning, was unused material from the score.

I wouldn't doubt it. I love the vibe of the tone of the original trailer and that moody music just fits so perfectly.

There's a lot of talent behind that song. Malcolm McLaren, Bootsy Collins and Jeff Beck. Crazy. The whole album is pretty cool.

McLaren was supposed to score the movie. Barron asked him based off of the Waltz Darling album. McLaren also managed The Sex Pistols, who was supposed to do a song for TMNT soundtrack. I can't remember how it went down exactly, but Barron lost a lot control or something, and Golden Harvest brought in Du Prez at the last minute. I want to say that McLaren was already writing music, but I could be mistaken. There's a Barron interview somewhere where he brings it up.

It's a crazy what-if.

From what I understand the song was a flop upon release.

Not a shocker-- it was oddball even for the late 80s.

I am personally happy with the score we got. I am not sure if the Bootzilla song fits. It was great for a trailer though.

I have always loved this and never knew what it actually was.

It sounds like the Du Prez stuff (or vice versa).

I think it might have been in one of the Blast From the Past columns, but I thought I read that some of the earlier parts of the trailer, before House of the Blue Danube remix comes in, there are some unused cues from John DuPrez in the trailer. The atmospheric stuff at the beginning. My memory could be wrong though.

Wow. I never knew it was a real song either. I've put the trailer on a loop just to listen to that one part with this music.
