I don't even know what I was expecting when I saw the teaser video but man... the execution was far beyond any expectations. The look! The swappable gear! The moves! It's just so... perfect.

I barely even like fighting games - although I kinda have gotten into them in recent years; I ain't good, but they're fun! But man, even if you don't like fighting games, ANY TMNT fan who hasn't played them in Injustice 2 is seriously missing out. It's not even a hard game so the "intimidation" factor should be nil.

Like, they're so awesome I legit feel a sadness for anyone who hasn't played them in that game for themselves. Yet another "gift I never knew I wanted until I got it." It's so satisfying.

...Except I wish they'd do an entire TMNT game like that and they're not ever going to. They should, though!

If we went Fred Wolf and Nick crossover with he skin tones you get Batman vs the TMNT for appearance. with the 2k3 different skin tones.

It's a Point Grey / Paramount animation co-production. While looking at the previous movies by those studios might only give a vague idea about what it'll look like, it is probable that many of the same animators are working on it.

Here's Point Grey's one animated movie:


And Paramount Animation's latest scheduled movie with a trailer:


So my guess, probably not that ambitious but not bad either. Like still good but not trying to push the envelope.

thanks. I never saw that rumble trailer before. I found it quite enjoyable.

is it safe to assume that the new tmnt movie will come out in 2022. theres no way this is a 2021 release....

Huh. I so wish it would lean toward a more realistic design (and highly doubting we'd get that), but Rumble looks decent. Glad to see something else to potentially give some kind of idea of what it might look like besides... bleh, Sausage Party. Thanks for sharing that.

It'll be good. No way it lives up to the franchise potential, but GreyPoint does some good work and they'll be forced to try harder after the PD failure.

agreed. after seeing the trailer I might check rumble out when it releases.

I hope it exceeds any and all expectations. But unfortunately, I seriously effing doubt it LOL

No I think it?ll be decent to pretty good. If they?re smart it?ll have some good action and enjoyable comedy (but FFs no fart jokes)

One more thing, learn from the numbers, understand your target audience, and please don?t make it woke and no sjw stuff either.

Seriously. One fart joke and I'm out. Barring very few exceptions. I'm not above laughing at a fart, but it's low hanging fruit.

I could see mocap be used for all the fight scenes.

Yes, but what I was saying is if you look over the titles associated with that company, they don't seem to make those sort of films.

Granted, there's always a first, but personally, I'm not going to hope that this will be it or assume that Point Grey has much interest in that direction.

Most mocap I can find is Rogen providing it (and voice) for the alien in "Paul," so he has some experience with it at least as an actor, but that was also nine years ago with 2011 technology and not via Point Grey.

Though if this is a cartoon-looking all CGI film, with no realistic look, then prob not much point in the time and cost of mocap anyhow if it's just a cartoon. Plus, the virus and the reason animation is supposedly being pushed more right now anyhow...and mocap requires the traditional togetherness on a set that companies can avoid with regular animation.
