Classic Ep Talk: Enter The Shredder
Have at it!
I'll start with this simple comment; to me the Turtles' first time on the Technodrome in that episode almost parallels Luke, Han, Chewie, and Leia's first time on the Death Star. Sorry, just had to bring the whole "Technodrome being a ripoff of the Death Star" thing up again |

this was the best episode of the entire series!!!!!! No question!!!!!! The fight scene was awesome, the jokes were funny, the turtles got to dress up like punks, the animation was amazing, it had so many great lines, it had the first of Krang, the first of Bebop and Rocksteady.... such a great episode!!!!!!
AND, it had the roadkill rodneys!!! Its a shame they were only in that episode!!

I afree with Nturtle, best episode of the old series. It even stands against most episodes of the new show in comparison.

I loved this episode!
The scene where they're training reminds me of the one in "Meet Casey Jones" The fight scene between the Turtles and the robots was well done, and I loved how Bebop and Rocksteady wanted to stay locked in the cage rather than go back to face Shredder. One thing I liked about this ep (as well as the first ep and "Shredder is Splintered") was Vernon was a much less annoying character. He hadn't been turned into the whiny bitch we knew him as until 1988.

Yeah, ecery character in the series changed after first season, some more, some less. I began to dislike Vernon greatly after the first season...

"Hey sista, what's the haps!?"
Though the lingo is dated, the episode isn't. I just rewatched it for a refresher and I still greatly enjoyed it. We got the first look at Krang and he was more monsterous then he appeared later on in the miniseries. Or at least more slimey. And he had that weird burping/moaning problem. But Bebop and Rocksteady's first appearance wasn't all that grand. They knocked eachother out cold seconds after Shredder introduces them and are locked in a cage later on without trading a single blow with the turtles. I know they're buffoons and all but they could at least look a little tougher. Eh, they get in a few hits when Shredder Gets Splintered comes along. Anybody else notice that Bebop and Rocksteady are much more violent in the moniseries? In the later episodes they're just oaffish comedy relief with no real reason to fight other than the fact that Shredder tells them to. In this they're pissed off at the turtles and want to kill them. Rocksteady doesn't seem to like April that much either. "Bimbo! I'll make ya eat that camera!" Then in Shredder Gets Splintered Bebop grabs Splinter by the throat and says "We don't like rats in our fair city. So how's about I wring your Stinken neck!?" But that's later. All in all, a perfect episode that introduces most of the mainstays of the series. "This guy's driving around Shaye's Stadium!" |

Bebop and Rocksteady were much better in the miniseries! They were dumb, but they were no where near the kind of infant like dumb that they were later...

This is one of my favourite episodes. It is serious... I mean... Serious fighting, serious enemy and mortal traps. I liked the way Saki appeared after TMNT had passed his test.
I also like when Saki said that Bebop and Rocksteady would not be called for a date anymore... I'll miss the old cartoon
