I am very doubtful, but I was hoping that a preview of Gears of War 4 was true, but I don't see how even that could be possible sense Microsoft just acquired the franchise.

Next year's Assassin's Creed has been leaked already (or one OF, if the previous years are any indication). Is anyone actually still this excited for the series anymore? Even the most hardcore fans I know are getting sick of it.

Even if people aren't, you gotta imagine the state of Unity has sapped some of that goodwill.

Then again, when you look at what sells and what doesn't these days, you come to realize the quality means absolutely nothing anymore. Games made for the lowest common denominator are the ones that make a killing, regardless. Game industry is truly Hollywood. Market to the right slobs and you'll do alright.

Sony has sold Sony Online Entertainment along with the IPs the developer made for them. The most shocking thing for me was selling off first-party IPs (EverQuest, PlanetSide, Hz1z). This is the first time I have ever heard of a console manufactuer sell off it's IPs. If that's the case then maybe there's hope for Rare to be sold off.....*naaahhhhh*!

I do appreciate browsing through some very cheap Wii games at GS from time to time, but I don't have high expectations for how they are going to work this retro niche business either. Most GS stores I go into have very little available floor space as it is without trying to cram completely different software and hardware onto the shelves. Do you have any links to their previous comments about it?

I just think the retro collecting market is such a mess as-is that a huge company looking to step in and make bank on it is only going to f*ck it up way worse. Can you imagine what they'd consider "fair" for trade value and sale prices? We're talking about the people who give you $30 back on a brand new game trade and sell it for $4 less than a new copy. This happening is the stuff of my nightmares.

You earn 10 points per dollar spent on new games and consoles, 20 points per dollar spent on used goods, and 20 points per dollar earned on trade-ins. So if you were to buy two used Xbox 360 games at $40 a pop, for example, you would earn 800 points. Sounds like a decent chunk of change, right? How many points does a random game like, say, Double Dragon cost? 32,500. Let me repeat that: 32,500.

Gee whiz. That's that really was ridiculous. I'm not surprised if that never got off the ground.
