Would you like to see Carter back one day?

Carter, from the Red Sky seasons of the FW cartoon. He wasn't very popular, but I didn't mind him tbh. he had potential. The writers just didn't capitalise on it. It was a good concept but not so well executed. He seemed loosely based on Keno from SotO.

I'm surprised Carter hasn't been brought back in any of the newest versions yet. Dregg was in the Nick cartoon afaik, and so was Pete the Pigeon. How long do you think it will take until they bring Carter back?

I'm not a fan of human characters outnumbering aliens and mutants in TMNT, but April, Casey, Carter, Baxter, Hamato Yoshi, Oroku Saki, Hun, Karai; would be a solid number for humans in a TMNT version.

Considering Carter rode a motorcycle in the FW series, i could see him being Casey Jones' friend in a future TMNT incarnation one day. A vigilante like him or even a friendly rival.

Thoughts?

Not especially, but if a future iteration insisted on there being a new human companion or something, I'd certainly rather them use somebody like Carter or Keno instead. They're both pretty cool guys who have potential for re-use, I never took any issue with 'em.

No, I never saw him to have any potential. Shoehorned in and he never worked in the episode stretch he was a part of the team. However, this brings up a debate that the Ninja Turtles have a serious lack of human allies that are liked if not effective. April of course does not help in the battle field, but finds use as a reporter( gets them information) or as a tech support. Casey Jones is a reoccurring asset in the battlefield and well-liked among the overall fan base. Aside form them are there any other human characters that are liked by fans and effective in the fight against Shredder and other villains? I never liked Zack or Carter. Not interested in Angel in the 2003 cartoon, but she was reworked and aged up and totally works as Nobody. So I guess there can be hope for humans I would rather write off into the dust bin of history like the annoyance of Zack and Carter.

Other human friends, there is Irma as a supporting character in the '87 cartoon, but just there to give April someone to talk to. Woody was originally a way to explain how IDW Turtles got food and tied in the pizza obsession gimmick. Neither he or Irma are help in fights. Harold Lillja serves as tech support like April has in some iterations. I do like Keno though and like most human allies is a one-shot. He can be dusted off and reworked and help the turtles in a fight. We do need more human characters to help the Turtles fight villains with the serious lack of them in over thirty years, but we need to start mostly from scratch with the nearly all of the few listed above not working or not one who would fight alongside them.

If you're going to bring back a hated character, bring back Venus de Milo.

But if you must have a young human sidekick, Carter's okay. Never, never, NEVER bring in that so-called "fifth turtle" kid.

He Who Shall Not Be Named.

Definitely, he's cool and could be made into a cool character if given the chance. I'm not saying make him a main character but have him be this bad ass recurring one instead. Same with Keno, I"d rather them bring them back than have a brand new kid that does a similar role in the plot.

You mean Zack?

I've never written a fanfic but I did think about if I did it'd be a "I'm the fifth turtle" storyline with Venus, Zack, Slash & Metalhead fighting to see who is the fifth turtle to save the main TMNT who are captured only for them to form their own "TMNT" group between them. And then Tokka joins in on that group as THAT group's fifth turtle.

Sounds awful, I know, that's why I'd never write it.

... ... ...

If you MUST say his name, yes, obviously, Zach.

Cool idea for a story, though!

Yeah, sure bring everybody back eventually.

I mean... Pigeon Pete, of all characters, got two new interpretations in comics and television. So now anything's possible.

I think it would be cool if instead of making a new version of Carter, the actual Carter from the 87 toon is brought back in some other version as a time traveller who accidentally ended up in another dimension. (since he ultimately wanted to time travel into the future in his last appearance).

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

Not as a mutant. If the turtles just meet a human who happens to look and appear like Carter and even has that name, I wouldn't care.

Not a fan of him, but any character can be good in the hands of a better writer.

Why not? As long as he is not one-dimensional Marty Sue, that is.

Didn't his mutated form make a cameo in the 2012 show or am I imagining things?

Once the Purple Dragons have been defeated, Casey Jones and Carter could fight criminal motorcycle gangs together.

Not particularly... As others have said, if they were looking to bring back an old character, I suppose there are worse, but he kind of annoyed me so if he must return then I hope something better would be done.

I dunno, maybe make him something like their 30-year-old neighbor who lives right next to one of the TMNT's main entrance/exit points and has come to know them. He could play some kind of role in their lives, important but subtle, without having to become obnoxiously involved.

I'd still love to see the TMNT gain some casual friends who remain outside the rest of the goings-on in their lives.

Yeah... there was something that resembled him, seen for just a moment. I think it was a character from one of the series the TMNT were watching?

I think you confuse him with Nickelodeon's Mutagen Man.

Clearly that cameo was very memorable. lol

Thinking on it more now and looking online... I can't find a pic of it, but I think it's from the Chris Brandford cartoon where they're climbing those stairs and then the kid sidekick Lil' Rineo surprises him by being some villain in disguise. The villain, according to the wiki page, being the "yellow monster." Presumably the one that looked like Carter.

edit: Ah! Just found a pic.

From http://de.tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Requiem (If you read German.)

I REALLY don't want his mutation back.

Also... Great, maybe it's just a coincidence, but 'Rise' Leo pretty much took those red marks from Carter.
Spoiler:

There are three main-options for characters who follow the turtles.

1.) Zach

2.) Carter

3.) Timothy

(or someone else, new character, of course)

Which proves we don't need a character to follow the Turtles. They all suck!

Me too, I liked how he saved the turtles when they least expected it.
