Tuesday is going to be your day to check for these. NECA's Target ambassador program kinda gives it away that Tuesday is the day their hired distributor puts their product out. I got mine on a Tuesday, as many others did, and then by Friday - Freddy n Jason all day long w/ no price tag or sign of TMNT even being there. As of now, gonna have to have $210 stashed away or free on a credit card until the scalpers realize this aint the limited edition hot **** they think it is. Target exclusives will last as long as people are paying. And if $800 of NECA TMNT get sold within 48hrs of being put out at a single location- yeah, more are coming.

I was blowing off steam to my good buddy yesterday about the store being cleaned out, and he hit me with the classic "Maybe it's a sign you shouldn't be spending money on this stuff" line.

Y'know... why is it that if you say that to someone who smokes, or drinks to excess, or plays the lottery, or buys Season passes to sporting events, or has a drug problem, they can smack you and it's totally acceptable according to society because those are "societally acceptable" things to waste money on and you're a douche for questioning how they choose to live... but if it's stuff like this, they can razz you and it's perfectly fine?

Sigh.

Because people are assholes. If anything, shouldn't the 2-packs being cleared out be a sign that there's actually a demand for this sort of thing? I mean, the average person isn't out there buying them, but it's more of a socially acceptable thing now than ever.

In fairness, this buddy is a very "spartan" kinda guy, and a framed poster is an "extravagant" purchase for him, so perhaps it was to be expected.

I've got to admit that the hunt for the 2-packs is equal parts frustrating and nostalgic. I can't say that visiting 6 Targets within a 24-hour span is my proudest moment, and it's a bummer walking up to a disheveled, often bare NECA section at every single store. But the hunt brings back childhood memories of calling around to stores and pleading with my parents to drive me to Toys R Us on a Tuesday after shipments were supposed to come in of whatever I was looking for.

OK folks...I got some spares. My friend was in target and scooped me up 6 turtles (2 each of Mikey, Leo, Raph-no idea where the Donnys went). Anyway-he didnt realize that I already got the ones I needed so I am here to help move these at cost +shipping. So I have $340 worth of turtles to move.

Just thought I'd share my Target experience. I live in BFE Alaska where it's typical for things to hit shelves much later than the states. Today I went to the nearest Target and sure enough no TMNT. I never expect much help from employees but I think I got a good one today. He basically said the NECA person was shiftless and pointed out how most of the NECA crap didnt even have price tags. He picked up some Chucky toy and scanned it on his doodad to see if he could maybe find a load of NECA in back. Took a while but sure enough he came out with a set of TMNT and I took the Mikey/Foot box home.

It's a massive shame that NECA's restrictions meant that they can't sell their figures at regular stores, other than Target and Gamestop. Import charges means that they won't be worth it to import over here.

I can only hope to get some off eBay sometime in the future, but I'd rather support NECA.

Oh well, I'm supposed to be saving money anyway

Checked again on my way home - sometimes they're putting new stuff on the shelves for tomorrow already by the time I get there at night - and they didn't put any out BUT they did mark a shelf with price stickers specifically for them, so that's a very encouraging sign that they're expecting more this week. The nice customer service lady said it could be any day and just keep popping in.

They did put some new DC figures out that weren't there this afternoon, so that was nice.

Just want to point out that not every Target is going to reset NECA stuff on the same day. There's usually a non-Target employee that comes in and puts NECA product on the shelves, and they set their own schedule. One of my local stores seems to restock the NECA section on Fridays. So keep hitting your local store and take note of when the NECA section gets restocked. Hopefully, they're consistent with which day they restock and stick to that schedule.

Looks like I will still have a Mikey and Raph set left over. If anyone wants them its 60/set+shipping. I also dont object to just shipping turtles and keeping the foot soldiers for myself if that helps anyone. It would also be a lot cheaper shipping and costs ($30/turtle).
