Still don't understand why they hired Scott Buck as showrunner. His work on Dexter in that same capacity was terrible. I guess Marvel didn't see the bad reviews coming since they hired Buck to lead the Inhumans tv show as well.

Considering critics have only seen half the show, I'm skeptical of reviews.

After all, Luke Cage's first half was FANTASTIC... the second half sucked harder than a vacuum cleaner factory.

Definitely starting slower than these other shows do, and it's not yet the martial arts showcase I'm hoping for, but the critics were unreservedly hard on it.

I am gonna watch Iron Fist later. I am in the middle of another show that I want to finish. TBH Iron Fist doesn't interest me that much.

Currently on the ep.4. It starts off slow, but I agree with ToTheNines, the critics are being too hard on the show, it's pretty decent so far.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought it kinda lost steam. Maybe Iron Fist will do the reverse? I'll be able to start the series if I ever get off work today.

How did Madame Gao take over The Hand? Sure, Gobu is dead again and for good. Though she doesn't appear to be involved in martial arts only a drug lord.

Ok, definitely my least favorite Marvel/Netflix deal so far. To quickly compare/contrast to the others:

The fights have NOTHING on Daredevil, but thankfully it doesn't lose focus and give subplots to horrible supporting characters like Karen or Foggy.

Doesn't have the pathos of JJ, or the great villain. But the action is way better, and again no godawful supporting cast.

Doesn't have the style of Luke Cage, totally forgettable soundtrack and score. But at least it didn't fall to pieces after the real villain(s) were revealed. Davos didn't proclaim "N*gga, I am yo brotha!" Lol.

Oh, but episode 6 (directed by The RZA) will be a favorite among TMNT fans. You'll want Finn Jones to play the next Leonardo. More ramblings from me as more people get caught up.

It's not my favorite Marvel/Netflix series, but I'm seven episodes in and still enjoying it. I plan on finishing it up today, but may possibly have to wait until tomorrow evening to watch the last two episodes or so. I'm really digging the Iron Fist character as well as The Hand, and am pumped for The Defenders. That's all I got for now.

Episode 2: Spoiler: Very interesting development with The Hand vs Kun Lun. Wow. I love Colleen. Which worries me because I had a big crush on Misty at the beginning of LC, and she turned out to be nothing but a nagging plot obstacle. I'm calling Joy not surviving the season. Great ending! Definitely starting slower than these other shows do, and it's not yet the martial arts showcase I'm hoping for, but the critics were unreservedly hard on it. Spoiler: Danny isn't as good a protagonist as the others were. Almost all side characters were better, especially Ward. The Rand company plot was the most interesting aspect of the whole show. Seems to me they just didn't have enough budget to make fight scenes better / have more of them. Could have been 8-10 episodes max. __________________ Through the Golden Door
