Best Shredder and Krang moment(s)?

Whats your favourite moment between Krang and Shredder in the original cartoon?

Me personally, just watching them both interact is pure bliss but there are some moments I especially love.

My favourite moment between the two is in the season 3 episode "Beware the Lotus", towards the end when Krang begs Shredder to take him back. It goes:

Krang: Shredder, fancy seeing you here. Surely you're not leaving without me?

Shredder: Don't worry, I'll write you a nice Poison Pin Letter.

Krang: Pleasee, I'll do anything! Just Take me with you!

Shredder: Do you promise never to insult me again?

Krang: Ah, I promise! Now Get me out of here you Tin Faced Moron!

I enjoyed listening to them bicker at each other a majority of the time.

However, my fave scene is what happens to Krang at the end of Beneath These Streets.

Absolutely when Shredder rescues Krang from Dregg, and protects him until he can share his lifeforce with him.

Especially knowing that in early seasons, Shredder would have left him without a second thought. And then that Krang actually thanks Shredder for the action.

The above moments mentioned are some of my favourites as well. The Krang/Shredder dialogue was one of the best parts of the series and usually the most entertaining.

I also love the banter between them in the season 2 episodes The Incredible Shrinking Turtles and It Came from Beneath the Sewers along with the season 6 eps Shreeka's Revenge and Adventures in Turtle-Sitting.

It seemed like almost every time they interacted was a humorous one. I always loved their banter and their snippy comebacks towards each other.

That's one of my favorite ones too.
It's adorable that Shredder grew to care that much about Krang and that their relationship evolved from just allies to what seemed like actual friendship.

I really think that's a dynamic that could have been built up in later versions of a TMNT cartoon, but since Nick/IDW, I don't think they're going to go anywhere beyond being actual enemies who could tear each other to pieces if they got the chance.

A show outside of the 80's writing style probably could go into their "business" relationship actually developing into that degree of friendship.

If seemed for a while, during season 1, Shredder and the Kraang were about to join forces.

I don't recall specifics but there's one instance where Shredder calls up Krang on the communicator, & Krang, in his android body, is all wet with a towel & whatnot, complaining that his shower was interrupted by the incoming message.

Up until #37 it remained a possibility that they would form an alliance of convinence. I can see it being built to in a future incarnation.

I played with it a bit in a couple of my fics. Love Is Shell essentially takes their OT relationship and conrinues it, while in Some Other World I delved into a more friendly ribbing type like Casey and Donatello had in the first movie. Trading insults as a game while actually being trusted friends. (Shredder and Krang are actually the GOOD guys in that one!)

Just wondering, if the Shredder/Krang dynamic is frequently brought up as a redeeming quality, how come all other versions depict them as separate threats with very little connection?

Because the other versions dont have the same tone at the 80s cartoon, and the Shredder/Krang dynamic from that show wouldnt fit in other versions.

A slightly darker and more menacing version of it might have worked in IDW if they had chosen to go that route. In fact it kind of did in the first few issues when Krang was supplying him with the "magic potion"....

It was more that he was supplying them to Kitsune, who in turn gave them to Saki.

Well yeah but my point was that they knew each other and had an arrangement of sorts. Krang knew darn well what she was using it for. Didn't seem to mind either as long as they kept their end of things. It was only after they turned on him that the relationship went south. (Which I found oddly amusing since Saki was always threatening to doublecross him in the cartoons.)

That actually does bring up a good question. That being why Krang was allowing Kitsune to use the Ooze like she was, and how he thought things would end up.

I think he thought he could control the situation since he was giving them what they needed. I recall that he was using them to help him gain a foothold on Earth.

The FW series doesn't need redeeming qualities.

My favourite moment is at 4:27
