A lot of foreign language dubs of American cartoons are poorly done, and that's why the cartoons bomb over there and get canceled. They can be broadcast in english with subtitles (like how people watch anime with english subtitles), for young kids if they don't know english yet.

English is taught everywhere in the world, I'm sure most kids learn it in grade school even in foreign lands.

You couldn't be more wrong about everything. English is taught in some countries not all and even then only a fraction of that learn English. Kids aren't going to read subtitles and neither would you as a kid that's why things are dubbed. Hell the US adults don't even like to read subtitles outside of a minority. And where do you get the information that cartoons bomb over there? And where exactly is "over there"? you mean the rest of the world? Some cartoons that bombed in the US like Top Cat, Undergrads, Cybersix were actually quite successful in other countries and they were dubbed.

That was some Donald Trump level sh-t you wrote right there.

Children don't care much for the dubs, especially not if they hadn't heard it in the original language.

Franchise-based cartoons are usually cancelled in many countries because the market is smaller. For example, the rules for children's advertising are stricter and there has historical been lesser TV channels. In Sweden there were two TV channels and three radio channels, all of them government-operated, up to the late 1980s-early 1990s. Children's advertising is banned in Sweden (but they can air from the UK instead).

so... Kids that can't read yet nor understand a foreign language shouldn't enjoy cartoons?

Some countries dub non-animated series, that's worse...

"How it all began" was the first "episode" of TMNT that was shown on out TV. Though, they've interrupted it (somewhere at the end of 4th episode) for news broadcast and then never resumed.
After that, this channel started showing cartoon starting with the 3rd season.

Take it easy. You know that's not too fair, regardless of the individual background. Some see it this way, some see it differently. Being a non-native speaker I know what it's like and I'm not having a hard time relating to both opinions at all since I enjoy a lot of animations in their original language as well as their dubbed ones.

In example - and for those who are familiar with it - the second saw movie comes up with a situation in the early beginning saying "your son is in a safe place" while a safe is right next to the jigsaw character literally meaning it. In the german version you don't get this hint all as it is translated in a way like the conversation partner don't need to worry about his son. Maybe this hint of mine benefits all of the readers and posters in this thread

Because CyberCubed is the heart and soul of this place, and without him it would have shut down ages ago.

As I've said multiple times: He's the hero this cesspool deserves. You all created him, now you have to deal with him.

Right, right. Much as it sickens me, I have to admit his heel act spices this place up and makes it less boring from time to time.

I'm just perplexed by the two cases within a week of each other where mofos defended him and WITH (apparent) STRAIGHT FACES, tried to say he wasn't a chauvinist.

Truly the apex of internet weirdness.

He's not a hero. He's our god. An angry and capricious god, one who lusts after Supergirl and one who will smite you all with holy fire. Tremble, mortals, when you whisper his divine name.

I will say with a straight face that CyberCubed is nowhere near as big a chauvinist as I am.

No, Russia.
What's interesting, it seems channel that showed "How it's all begun" and seasons 3-7, never got around to dub seasons 1-2 and they were shown later, on different channel with different team behind translation.

Ignoring ignorance and stupidity is the sure way to allow them to spread and infect others. Especially since certain poster spouts almost nothing, but such questionable stuff.
And no, "but he has different background" has nothing to do with the lack of common sense and logic.

you know the best way to get rid of trolling is to ignore it right? damned hard to do at times especially with Cyber cubed since he is basically the text book definition of an internet troll...

See, I do not mean to offend you at all, that said beforehand. And yes of course I see your point as well as another ones, hence the "regardless of individual background". It is us all together setting sails for a course of common interests based on working together, not against each other. It is difficult I hear you say? It is but what does "difficult" mean when it doesn't mean "impossible"? On the other hand would you have someone talk like that about you? Let that sink in first and do not take it personally because that's not what I'm here for at all

Yes I went offtopic so please forgive me dear other readers and posters as I hope that you all see the greater good and the heart being put in with such a post leaving all the best for all of you

PS: Ignoring is never a way, only a step back for a single being but no solution at all, no way to make peace with one another or yourself
