The funny thing is that I mostly know about him from people making fun of how old he was, for about 20 years or so.

Man, 2021 is no better than 2020 so far. 2021 I don't know why you have to do this to us, you're like 2020 the sequel.
Goddamit 2021, can we at least have a good year without icons dying left and right? 2021 you son of a bitch. |

In all seriousness, that sucks but nobody can say the guy didn't have a run. And I think he had some health issues recently. It's a shame, but that's the way things work. You think 60% of marriages ending in divorce is a bad statistic? 100% of all lifetimes end in death. 100%! Even more if you count abortions and miscarriages. So technically MORE than 100% of people will eventually die. Wacky, isn't it? "Life" is the leading cause of Death, and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. Except shrug, say "Well... that sucks", finish your blueberry muffin and move on with your life.

May he rest peacefully. |

Some of my favourite years ever, ones where I felt good and good things happened to me, almost always had some very significant thing happen in them designed to make you feel bad for having a great time.
Princess Diana died in my all time favourite year 1997. Eddie Guerrero died in 2005, celebs died left and right in 2016, a year nobody likes for one reason or another, but one I thoroughly enjoyed. |

And I'm sorry but 1987 > 1997. "Appetite For Destruction" came out; that single-handedly trumps anything that happened in '97, and in fact probably makes it THE most important year of the last century. Just Sayin'. OH! And the "Masters of the Universe" Movie. Viva la ochenta y siete!

"I am more than man, more than life, I am a GOD" Yeah, more significant things happened in other years that enhanced other people's enjoyment of them or a decade, I was just generally talking about how some years affected me personally. Is it weird that I kind of stopped taking the 80s for granted around 1999? There have been instances where I have let big events in a year impact me, such as 2007 (Benoit murders, Spider-Man: One Moe Day etc), but then I had two awesome years after that, despite, again, the world seemingly falling around everyone else. |

Yeah, that's some sh*t that happens. And man, I don't even wanna get into how bad the Benoit thing f*cked me up. Woof.
Also, I'm gonna be up for the next three days having anxiety about whether or not Google Translate f*cked me over on that last post.

By coincidence I found out that he wanted to get frozen after death.

If you wanna reminisce, I always really enjoyed his interviews with Norm Macdonald. Norm always managed to make Larry laugh & become animated, even perplexed at times. Not many guests could do that, & it was always fun to see him that way. A professional broadcaster till the end!
