If I see it it's because of those same reasons too Primer, my birthday is 4 days later. I love the design for Lizzy, I may have to buy the toy.

It's crazy how mainstream Kaiju movies got in the 2010s, two pacific rim movies, an American Godzilla movie that turned into a cinematic universe, a gigantic Kong, new giant monster franchise with Pacific Rim that now has two movies, Rampage, Japanese Godzilla getting a wide release, Jurassic World outgrosses Avengers and starts a new trilogy, Power Rangers comes back with giant battles.

We're only missing the Gamera movie that was announced but never came out and the Voltron which is always "just about ready to finally announce it sometime next year" a la Spawn 2

Uwe Boll is suing.

I dunno... I don't entirely disagree with him there. And "Rampage" does sort of look like Jumanji 2, lol...

I don't have much interest in the movie, but I am a fan of Rampage 2 and 3 from my middle school days. A free computer simulator has been launched due to the movie. Think Pac-Man 30th anniversary release by Google. It won't let the player smash down, but it is a little fun.

Saw it. I went in expecting something mediocre but kind of stupid fun... but it was great! Super fun. The trailers don't give away much. Lots of surprises and it's actually very cleverly written. Hilarious and still manages to pull the heart strings. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in it WAY more than I figured from the previews.

The bad: the two corporate villains. They still work, but pretty one note.

Of course it lets you smash down. Don't be silly.

Did y'alls know about this?

You know I am talk about the simulator in the link.

So George and Ralph are in this. What about Lizzie and who exactly is the Dwayne Johnson playing? Was the female scientist gender flipped?

YES ME TOO.

It functions exactly like the original game because it's just an emulation.

I thought it was a fun movie. Even if its based on the video game. There were some Easter eggs.

I'm sad to see it's doing not so great at the box office. On the surface it seems so dumb, but I promise it is sharply written and directed.

I absolutely had intentions on seeing this in the theater, but I had a series of financial expenses and setbacks this month which kind of made it tough. I don't see movies in theaters all that often at all so intending to see something is a rarity.

It seems to be the highest-rated video game movie ever though, at least that's what I'd read somewhere. Not exactly a high goal to shoot for, but it's something.

Regarding the Easter Eggs. Did you guys noticed
Spoiler:
The Rampage arcade cabinet on the background in a room in some scenes

That was very meta.

So this and Ready Player One which everyone shat on before they released turned out great like I thought they would? Awesome. 2 for 2 on my picks this year so far. Let's see if Battle Angel also surprises people like I think it will.

Edit: I forgot to mention that there's this huge banner on an underground bridge in my City of Ralph/Lizzy/george and it's fantastic, they did something similar for The Force Awakens and it really sells the movies. It's one of the benefits of living in a huge city since you get these awesome marketing stints that are way cool.

If it were to happen, do you think that Jeffrey Morgan could write a great script for a Gauntlet movie?

Those two were irritating. It's bad news when a CGI monkey is a better actor than the villains.

I liked a lot of it, but I thought they pulled the 'The Rock is about to be eaten but the monkey saves him at the last minute' gag a few too many times.
