Ah, didn't realise there was a radio station called 45 as well.

Presume you have heard the original version to Brimful of Asha then? The version everyone knows and launched them to stardom was remixed by Fatboy Slim.

Duh, which version did I post here?

I bought the album "when I was born for the seventh time" because of the original version. I couldn't care less about the Fatboy Slim version.

Yeah, I somehow missed the remix version until fairly recently. When it was new I mostly saw/heard it on MTV and they only played the original whenever I saw it. I don't generally listen to dance music, so it makes sense that I wouldn't have encountered the remix.

It's alright.

Hah, sorry, wasn't in a position to play the video at the time, I should have checked before posting. Still prefer Fatboy Slim's version though. File under the same banner as Soft Cell's Tainted Love and FYC's Suspicious Minds, my favourite version of the song is a remix.

(and before anyone starts complaining about why not Elvis, that was a cover version too, it wasn't his song originally)

I got a record player 2 days ago and it’s totally alien to me. I got it because Life is Strange 2 PS4 Collector’s Edition comes with bonus vinyl record discs and I‘ve been learning a lot on how to setup and play records from YouTube.

Freak myself out cause I don’t wanna ruin it.

I also bought a record player this week, seen as I still have my small vinyl collection, now need to go and buy something decent to play though

I won't be looking for tape players though, same with VHS, was glad when DVD's came along, no more rewinding, tape wearing or also being eaten in the device

What's so hard to learn? You place the disc on the turntable, place the needle at the outer edge of the record, and turn it on. I grew up with vinals, had a whole bunch of them as a kid, and used to listen to some of my mom's records, too. Record players are easy as pie to operate. Power and volume, only things needed to know.

I feel like there's enough time passed by now since they were standard, that "Do NOT imitate Jam Master Jay" should also need to be part of the standard operating instructions. There's like three whole generations that might not know better anymore.
