Civil War movie (2024)
From some of the folks involved in 28 Days Later, Ex-Machina, Sunshine and Annihilation (no, not Danny Boyle), which is a pretty good list of movies. Now, I'm wondering from the trailer -- and I think I know the answer -- is this going to be a cautionary tale in timely fashion for 2024 if a republican president was to be in power again... or is it a cautionary tale if a democrat president's power is left unchecked? Or will they just play things super nebulous and not name which side is which? They kind of can't here, right?

Wait…why would California and Texas join forces in a civil war?

I'm guessing they did this because they wanted to keep it vague about what exactly they've decided to secede over? As to not paint any one real world group with too broad of a brush and thus offend them? |

Texas isn't that far away from turning blue, believe it or not.

Another attempt to make money on scaring people. But if people want to see that, let it go.

Alright, I've seen it, not sure what to make of it. It's well edited, well shot, well acted and, if you ignore the premise of the civil war itself and focus on the war journalism angle, it almost works. However, the civil war itself is pretty vague, it's not entirely obvious what the conflict is even about, there are some vague statements about the President abusing his power and an "antifa massacre" but as for why anyone is fighting or why it escalated to this point, I honestly couldn't tell. They also seem to go and forth on whether the rebels are justified or if the conflict is ultimately going to lead nowhere good.
