I would be excited for 2012, but I just know someone's gonna make up some other bull sh*t after that turns out to be just another day.

I can talk to you more about it in PM if ya want so as not to clutter the thread too much.

Which cracks me up, because I'm running in a zombie themed obstacle course the very next day.
That is awesome. If the Drome has a like button you'd get a big thumbs up.

True but at that point all that will be left are the really hardcore supporters, who pardon my saying, can some off as quite insane sometimes. The thing about Christians is they aren't treated fairly. The only time we hear about them is when they're doing insane stuff so we assume they're all like that and it's really not the case. Radicals suck period no matter what their race, color, or creed.

Eh, that's probably an overestimation of his influence. Harold Camping represents a very marginal niche of American evangelicals. He's been able to influence a great number of people over the years (and consequently raise some serious money) through his radio business/ministry, but he actually holds a number of beliefs most American evangelicals would consider heretical. So yeah, people who believe in the Christian doctrine of the rapture probably won't be affected in their belief either way on account of one crazy false prophet.

lol, so true. I'm so glad my parents never objected to the turtles franchise in general. I guessing I probably wouldn't have been allowed to read most of the Mirage stuff back then though, even if I was interested. Eastman & Laird have an interesting commentary on the diversity of the TMNT franchise into the children's entertainment/marketing juggernaut and the artistic, gritty comic book property in one of the "Return to New York" issues.

Why do people take religion so seriously anyway? It was only there originally so ancient people could explain things before science really flourished and we
understood how the world worked.

Reminds me of the people who refuse to believe the Big Bang create the universe rather than some all powerful God.

Tell me something Cybercubed, where did the elements that exploded to cause the "big bang" come from?

Where did "God" come from? It's about an equal question and when it comes down to it, no one can really be argued out of what they absolutely believe. Which is a good thing-- I believe they call it faith.

[Necessary Edit: When people use what they believe to justify their own actions and prejudices is when it stops being a good thing.]

<----
[[Further edit: Look at the size of that bow-tie. I believe it is the result of mutagen on spilled on a bow-tie that had just had contact with a cravat.]]

[[[I should sleep.]]]

<<<Lastly: It's turtles all the way down.>>>

It's been scientifically said it was dense matter boiling up waiting to explode. There's also the theory that the universe expands and retracts billions of times, which means he Big Bang constantly happens after trillions of years.

Now here's a candidate for the "Volcanic Asteroid" sub-forum.

But seriously, CC, doesn't the fact that we are finally getting Season 9 of the Old Toon on DVD prove that there is a God and He is good?

Well that is true, but we still need the 3 skipped eps, Turtles Forever uncut, and Volume 4 completed.

I also won't be truly happy till Playmates makes a Lord Dregg figure that we should have gotten 15 years ago.
