Oh god this new series is going to have anime influence won't it?
Silly anime faces to show certain emotions (sad, panic, anger, happy), annoying hyperactive anime behaviour where characters run all over the place and yelling and probably some Ultimate Spiderman influences when it comes to humour...

One of the reasons why i stopped Watching the TMNT 2012 show is exactly because of this: Anime influence and forced humour (even Splinter was a comedian, and i can't take a silly Splinter serious) and the awful character designs (Splinter looked weird and too tall, Karai looked awful with random blonde in the back of her hair, Shredder looked too bulky and his body was out of proportion).

I know it's aimed at kids so that parents buy the toys but geez... todays cartoon's are insanely dumb with overdone humour...

Here is how i expect Shredder to be in the new show, following the typical 2000's villian cliché in todays cartoons:

Shredder: *badass voice* Now... we will attack those annoying turtles!!
Shredder: *Lighter voice* But wait...! Did i check the calender? Is it even turtle hunting day!?
*Shredder runs to the calender, he gaines big eyes and is hunchbacked and checks the calender*
Shredder: *Very light voice* Hmmm...... AHA!!! it IS turtle hunting day!!
Shredder: *badass voice* *ahem* S-so now we hunt for the turtles!!!

*bebop enters*
Bebop: Duuuhh... hey boss i got those ninja for ninja magazines you wanted me to bring... duuuhhh *drools and trips randomly because it's funny*

Shredder: N-ninja for ninja!? *anime blushy cheeks* I-i didn't o-order that!!

Typical 2000's humour, prepare guys.

That sounds horrifying. Like the thing that nightmares are made from.

Do you reckon we'll see a fresh crop of Nickelodeon plants pop up around here when the show is about to air? I kind of miss them.

I wasn't hanging around the Nick '12 cartoon threads too much when it first aired... was there a lot of Nickelodeon plants back then?

i dunno, but considering how some react here when you criticize it, there could be some suck ups deeply embedded... one step away from a plant ;o)

usually easily spotted with personal insults not accompanied by a smiley face to let them know it's all in jest ;o)

If the show will be as bad as some of us think it'll be, then definitely. They'll want to convince people to watch whatever horrible stuff they'll put out, so they'd probably go that route again.

I'm sure there will be more people coming here once the new show has aired, but i just hope it won't just be kids or teens, i hope some older fans from the 80's or early 90's will come here too.
Not being mean to the kids or teens, but they are known to have a habit of being trolls and very rude to people, and i want more people on here to talk about the 80's and 90's.

If the current Nick cartoon didn't get them to come here, it's doubtful some Teen Titans Go!-like TMNT show is going to do it.

Plants????? Michael Bay isn't involved in it is he

My fear is is that it's going to be too childish, too silly, too light toned and going to be like Teen Titans Go.

If it's like that then I hope it gets horrible ratings, a lot of complaints by fans and only lasts one season and hope Nickelodeon will have another reboot and it will be based on IDW.

The reason people don't like it is because:

1- It's based on a rather serious comic with violence and even some blood and got a kiddy (horrible) adaption of it.

2- The humour is downright awful and all over the place, it's one joke after another and another and it doesn't take itself seriously at all.

3- Character designs are laughable.

It's as if Spawn would become a cartoon and they would make him a super hero with Spiderman like humour and silly bunny villians lol.

Maybe this show will be the Next Mutation of the franchise so it will kill tmnt for a few years before it gets rebooted again.

1) Considering it uses the exact same main voice cast from the Cartoon, I'm going to say TTG is based on that, rather than the comic.

2) These are features for me, not bugs.

3) It's a comedy, the character designs are supposed to be laughable.

4) These are reasons people don't like the show, and they're all valid reasons for not liking a show. They are not, however, valid reasons to hate on a show.

Or...by extension, the people who happen to like the show.
Folks like me, who are older than dirt and happen to have a fondness for hyperactive meta-commentary. (see also: Batman: Brave and the Bold, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, etc.)

As far as I understand, it's mostly outrage that it isn't like the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon and annoyance with it's omnipresence, though there are legimate complaints about the cheapness or the stupitity of it's comedy.

Personally I don't mind the show because:
  1. It's clearly a parody and not a serious attempt at continuing or rebooting, it just uses the 2003 Teen Titans as a basis. (Even if it's a bit scary how it has lasted so much longer).
  2. When comparing it to the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon, it's not like that one was an especially faithful adaptation either. Wolfman and Perez weren't exactly making a gag manga, just saying. And I'm not so sure it has aged that well either.
  3. I don't watch shows on the TV anymore, so I have no reason to be bothered by bradcast schedules.
  4. The show is stupid, yes, but I'm fine with stupid humor as long as it's not predictable or dry.
  5. If nothing else, at least it's not like Avengers Assemble. Lifeless and drab.

TTG is an adaptation that's different enough so I give it a pass. It's not trying to be the TT cartoon in the first place, so why even compare it?

Plus, the show is pretty funny.

i didn't remember the original teen titans all that serious to begin with, considering they also had stupid anime face references in it as i recall.

Think Nick TMNT it's pretty similar in tone.
