How Often Do You Watch the 1990 Movie?

We all know that the 1990 live action movie is the best and will probably forever be the best we can hope for in a turtle movie. And, though it can be said to have its issues, it is still a miracle that we, as fans, got the movie we got. It does a great job of splitting the difference between the 1987 cartoon and the Mirage books. So,

How often do yo watch this movie?

When was the last time you saw it?

For me it's twice a year, at least, and I just watched it a few weeks ago.

Huh, good question! I never kept track, honestly. The only real answer I can give is "Not as much as it deserves". If I catch it while channel-flipping then it's an automatic, though.

If I'm being 100% honest, I guess I'd say no more than three times per year, but I feel kinda bad about it.

If you count from when I was a little kid in 1990...I don't know...I've probably seen it 30+ times over the course of my life. Keep in mind this is dating back like nearly 30 years.

Every 2 years, though I only got into it in 2018 and have only seen it 3 times. The last time was a few months ago when I heard about the 30th anniversary.

I've seen it at least 20-30 over the course of the past 7 years since I've gotten into TMNT. On average, I watch it about 3-4 times a year. One of those times around March when the movie came out.

That's a really tough question. I love this movie so much, and I can definitely say I don't watch it as much as it deserves. I have made it a tradition recently though to watch it on its anniversary, so at least once a year. So last time I watched it was on March 30th.
But I'd like to say I watch it twice a year at minimum.

Usually once a year or so. Same as any movie I'd re-watch

I get itchy if I don't watch both "Young Guns" movies every couple of months at minimum.

Those movies are my "Star Wars".

I haven't been watching the 90s movie much. I'm not the type of person who watches the same movies over and over again. That first movie experience is always the ones I like the most. Its hard to watch a movie multiple times knowing what happens in it. So for me watching a movie once is good enough for my entertainment.

Plus I don't have as much nostalgia for the old stuff because I already seen them.

I do have nostalgia when its something new from old stuff i used to watch. So for me the nostalgia comes because it used to enjoy the originals.

So if you were to ask me if i liked the 90s movies better? I couldn't answer that because I just don't have much nostalgia for them. They were a product of its time. and I just don't want to relive them because I already experience those the first time. So I prefer new experiences.

I need to carve out more time to watch TMNT 1990 like every 3 months... Thanks to a fellow 'Dromer helping me open my eyes to its flaws, the last time wasn't the greatest experience.... Need to see it again... Make it a quarterly tradition or something... The movies I have to watch at least once a year are:

TMNT 1990
The Maltese Falcon (1941)
Batman (1989)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
John Carpenter's Halloween and II (1978, 1981)
Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho
Superman: The Movie (1978 )
JAWS (1975)
The Indiana Jones trilogy
First Blood (1982)

I adore films. 70's and 80's are my GOLDEN AGE... horror, adventure, film noir, anything to do with MALLS. And anything strange. I like strange.

I would say that I recently watched the 1990 TMNT film, but recently could mean a few months ago and I have watched other movies since then. However, I have watched the first TMNT movie more often than the later movies from the same trilogy.

I'm glad I saw this topic.

Usually, when I order a pepperoni pizza...I get the old 1990 movie DVD and watch it. Donatello's lines always give me a laugh.

I miss the 1993 Ninja Turtles III movie...good Donatello jokes there as well.

At least 3 to 4 times a year. Anyone who is just now discovering it in recent years or wasn?t there to watch it theaters at s memorable age as a kid, I really feel sorry for you since I don?t think you?ll really appreciate it as much as us other fans do.

I should probably show it to my daughter again, at least. She doesn't remember it at all. My only worry is that I'll watch it, and then we have to watch part 2 and 3 and so on. And I don't like the direction that road goes one bit.

Every 2 years or so.

I'm more into tmnt cartoons and rewatch them regularly, while not being hooked onto the movies to the same extent.

That being said though, 1990 is still the most rewatchable of all the films.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

It doesn't even need to be spoken. Because it's not even close on any other front.
