I saw this a few years ago. If nothing else, it certainly is memorable.

Picked up X-Men Origins: Wolverine today as I hadn't yet seen it. I fairly enjoyed it, not as bad as I was led to believe.

on DVD:
9: It gave me a Secret Of Nihm sort of vide. Nice, respectable film... Outlander: Interesting, though a bit hard to follow. However, it seems most of the dialogue ended up in the deleted scenes section. at the cinema: Sherlock Holmes: The most interesting interpretation of the character I've ever seen... It's a 'what if Holmes was the great gramps of House MD' kind of thing. The worst part about it? The dog farting received the most laughs in my theater. The best part? I can now say I've seen a movie where every trailer looked like something I'd see in theaters. The movie itself was pretty good too.

Saw 500 Days of Summer and Taken.
500 Days was alright, but a little boring at times. Only part I really thought was funny was the end. Taken. I really Enjoyed that one. |

I saw Avatar in 3D yesterday evening. For me it was 99 per cent about watching it on the big screen and while I was watching it, I was thoroughly impressed with it. Plot and character wise there is nothing memorable about it though.
Nevertheless I'm convinced that this film will be a new generation's Star Wars i.e. 20 years from here nerds from everywhere will attend Avatar conventions and speak to each other in the language of the Na'vi. |

captain America II: Death too soon (1979)
a cheese fest beyond the human mind. Conan the Barbarian can't believe I never seen it before, I have only seen Conan the destroyer. now i can... proudly say i seen them both Cloverfield I liked it, the camrea makes sense since it's a amateur hand held camera and not a huge a$$ TV camera... *cough* REC *cough* quarantine... Last transmission an other "found footage" movie, it's awesome and very believable as a documentary until the ending comes. I find the ending a bit bad, but it still works. |

Where the Wild Things Are. First time I've actually cried in the theater. Yeah, I'm a bitch. Some parts dragged a bit, but this is a great little movie about being a kid.
*E* I've been hearing a lot of great things about Love Exposure, so I decided to check it out. I'm generally not a huge fan of Japanese cinema, but (aside from one disturbing sequence that no male should ever have to watch) I enjoyed this movie a ton. It loses a bit of steam because of its long running time (~4 hours), but this is a wonderful film about faith, sex and love that manages to be simultaneously funny and serious, sexy and moving, and absurd and profound, and I recommend it to anyone.

A Serious Man. I think the Coen brothers are excellent filmmakers, but I personally don't care much for their scripts.

There will be Blood
Great movie, and it Paul Thomas Anderson proves yet again that he's an exceptional filmmaker. Daniel Day Lewis' performance is amazing. |

Circle of Iron was meant for Bruce Lee......
Too bad she's bad 3.5/6 Typical Italian comedy , Loren and her family are all bunch small time crooks......the ending is romantic ho hum (boy fights girl , they make up in the end etc) I seldom give 6 (full score) to a movie unless I find it extremely entertaining , such as Easy Rider or Deer Hunter |

In the last two days I watched:
The Devil's Advocate: I've seen this one a couple of times now and I really like it for its depressing atmosphere. Even though Keanu Reeves is in it. No Country for Old Men: Fantastic sceneries and great acting but somehow not what I was expecting. I enjoyed other Coen films more. Sweeney Todd: I'm not a fan of Burton's work but his overstylized visuals work pretty well in a musical. The film dragged at some points though. |

I just saw the Hangover about two days ago. It was hilarious. Although the music got kinda annoying at times but the ridiculousness of the movie more than made up for that.

Princess and the Frog: It was interesting to see how similar this actually was to the 1990s Disney films (a bit more daring at points maybe but still). I'd even say it being "old-fashioned" in that way was what caused its (relative) financial failure.

At least animation went out with its head held high.

As long as there are films like Ponyo, I don't see how animation "went out".
