I did, however, see and read Cyrano De Bergerac. I liked it quite a bit. Lets see....what I'm reading now? a bit of everything I can suffer. I need reading glasses so I can only read a few pages at a time. Most recently I'm reading the new Harry Potter book...and i just got the new Halo book...and a novel seris about wolves/shapeshifters. So hopefully I'll pick it up soon. |

Cyrano De Bergerac. Lovely. I love it. If you ever see any of the movies, go for the one that was made, I think, in the 30's. It's in black and white, and is wonderfully done. It's my favorite. I'm on the Steven King's 'Lisey's Story'. Though I still have a few chapters left of 'Running With Scissors'.

Playboy is actually one of the better magazines. And it has quite a lot of informants working for it, so it has good up-to-date stories. The people at my newspaper read it religiously, because they have the newest news on stars and trends in a man's world. And the Playboy-people are damn good researchers too.

I'm currently reading through the "Everworld" series by K.A. Applegate. Really awesome little saga, I guess for a 'young adult' (i.e. probably late teenage) reading age. As in, the writing style is fairly simple, but the content itself is pretty...hardcore. Nothing too graphic, but definitely wouldn't want to have a middle-schooler or someone dealing with it.
It's kind of an interesting take on mythology, all the Greek/Egyptian/Norse/Roman/Mayan gods creating this kind of alternate universe, taking a section of humanity with them and abandoning the real world. A group of average kids from Chicago get drawn in there to close the gateway or some crap, it's actually pretty good reading. Written by the same lady as that old Animorphs kid's series. |

I'm reading Wolverine: Weapon X. It's a paperback novel adaption of an actual story arc that occured within Wolverine's life. It's deemed a "modern day Frankenstein tale" or something similar.

My English class recently started reading Night by Elie Wiesel. I thought I would completely have no interest in the book when I received it, but it kinda grew on me. I'm glad the book won a Nobel Peace Prize, even though its about 110 pages long. Seeing as it has to do with World War II, it'll probably more intense than I expect it to be. As long as its good, I'll read it.

Hurry with HP6!! Hehe. I finished that one in less than a day. I couldn't put it down! Same with the 5th one. My friend and I shared a copy, as we were on vacation when it came out. She read it first, then passed it on to me, and we both read it in less than a day.
I can't wait for 7. And, um... I'm reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter right now.

I'm contemplating on reading Tolkeins Silmarillion. People say it's a difficult piece. Has anyone read the book? Is it difficult?

Congratulations, you have just met the Aberdeen Soccer Casuals by Dan Rivers....
its about one man's account of the football violence he was a part of from 1983 to 1989. its all true incidents, some of its funny, some of its scary, most of its just mental. aberdeen in the 80's was said to be the hardest firm during the 80s in scotland and was the first to bring the 'casual' side to football violence (instead of skinheads and 'scarfers' ((people in their team colours)) the casuals wore very trendy and expensive clothes, seemingly.) i aint a football hooligan, nor will i ever will be, but this is a great book! most probably cos most of its based in and around aberdeen, near places i grew up (and my work was even mentioned in it a couple of times!!)
