Very good issue. I've been loving all of the minis thus far! I gotta say Filiardi's coloring fits Kuhn's style to the tee. It really allows me to appreciate Kuhn's artistic style.

LOVING this series. Slash and Hob's debate was very well done, great dialogue too. And Pete's bubble interruption was so funny.
Loved page six, very sweet scene. And a brilliant way to work MM's Fred Wolf name into the character. Kuhn's art was darn good too, especially towards the end when everyone was getting beat down and captured. Can't wait for next month, so sad that this'll end soon, but the characters aren't going away at least. |

Here's my full summary and review of Mutanimals #2 at TMNT Entity.
I love the way Allor's script weaves the humor in and out of the more intense situations. The levity doesn't necessarily disrupt the tone of the book as it serves to remind you that the thing is titled "Mutanimals" and should only be taken so seriously. |

It was a great bit with the pun of a name, Seymore Guts. Nice nod and joke with the '87 cartoon. Mondo was fun and its cool to see Slash change and take the moral high ground causing conflict with Hob. It appears Hob will leave his group as soon as it is completed as to why he is attacking someone with Hun.
What species is Sally? IDW crew, was Sally created as a substitute for Alopex after you all found a direction more suitable for her as Angel's partner? It could be a blessing in disguise for both characters and fans.

I really loved this issue. Old Hob still wanting to kill and Slash trying to stop him is really interesting. Old Hob really is the only "bad" mutant on the team still, the rest of them want to be like the Turtles.
During the big skirmish I can't help but feel something is missing though...and its Leatherhead. After watching the Nick version and the Archie version, not seeing Leatherhead there fighting alongside them feels really odd. He's also just as strong as Slash so seeing another heavy hitter in the fights would be great. Leatherhead can't debut soon enough. Feels like somethings missing without him there. |

I'm not sure, I mean, you have one "Hulk" heavy hitting character in Slash, just keeping things in the Mutanimals comic I'd be inclined to make Leatherhead on Null's squad as a counter balance. I suppose if you ever fight the Foot you could have them be an answer to Bebop and Rocksteady, that is, 'smart bruisers' but i don't know that the fight needs another hitter per se.
Actually, what the team "needs" in super hero terms is a flyer. You know, because Pete doesn't exactly count. You know Ray is going to show down with Bludgeon at some point, who's going to go toe to toe with Koya? Not that Pete meeting Koya wouldn't be great.

One's a pigeon. The other's a hawk.
I think we all should know exactly how this would end... |

Who knows, Maybe we will see Dreadmon and Jaguar too, and most importantly, Leatherhead maybe?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far, IDW hasn't adapted any Mutanimal who appeared strictly in the Mutanimals; Ray, Mondo, and Slash all also appeared in the Fred Wolf cartoon. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Dreadmon or Jagwar. Not saying they won't happen, but the odds are much less likely for them.
