im kinda surprised they got Mikes chucks into that pose. those chucks are even more brittle then the 88 originals. at least on the Retro ones they released a few years back

The 2nd set had grown on me.
It does look nicer (even if it is plain) when sitting with the Comics set.
They sort of complement each other, but you’d need both to appreciate that aesthetic.

It was posted on Facebook by Playmates that, at the least the black and white ones, are a Walmart exclusive. No price or release time yet. With there being over 5,000 Walmarts (in the just the USA) and if they are limited to 7,000 units I don't think these are going to be very easy to find which is pretty depressing.

But at the same time 7000 units is a big number for a smaller fan base. They don't see it to be super popular being it's not based on the new show. And the "adult collectors" go for NECA. There is a gray area for real TMNT collectors and 7000 seems like a good number.

i think while alot of adult collectors go for NECA i think these will sell better then they think. i know alot of adult fans myself included will be buying the original ones for the memories they had as kids. those figures will always have a spot in my heart no matter what crap Playmates pulls or NECA releases

I am completely shocked, but Walmart will be selling the black and white ones online starting next week and then in stores mid-August. Hopefully that means they are going to actually be obtainable. No word on the classics yet.

I’ve seen conflicting dates in articles that were posted about this set, with some saying today July 18th, but a few articles were running with August 18th as the date. I’ve got a free day, so I’ll keep digging and rechecking Walmart
