I drew this real quick!!
I tried coloring her like a red salamander/red eft but I didn't like it with the pink scarf! So I went with grey/yellow instead. |

That's a really cool concept. You really like drawing scarfs, don't you, Sophie?

I will take this over Jennika Turtle. Looks true to the species and original character design, better than the 2012 rendition. What is that on Mona's cheek, yellow coloring?

I just remembered something that could make Mona Lisa look even more distinctive than characters such as Mondo or Leatherhead: a vertically-flattened tail like some species of salamanders have. Pair that with the gills and I can picture some sweet underwater action for her! Mona Lisa vs Bludgeon, anyone?

So what species of salamander were you going for here?

Thanks you guys!
I really liked the original Mona Lisa's physics major/college student backstory, that would make for fun story potential and maybe she and Donnie could nerd out together. I also think she has potential because she isn't a fighty mutant, she isn't a ninja or warrior or anything like almost every other mutant character, so she'd have to add something else to the team: her PHYSICS DEGREE! |

There's a slight mix-and-match of species, sure, but in a series where there's an alligator with a prehensile tail and a ray that shoots barbs out of its fin instead of the tail, does it matter that much? Not all geckos can camouflage either.

To be honest, while we already have Mondo as a color changer, salamander Mona who changes color with her emotions would have good comedy potential.
The books are a nice touch, good for people to remember she was a physics major.

Also, I notice she didn't have webbed fingers and toes in the first sketch. I like those, they make her look more distinctive.

So I haven’t seen it discussed yet, and maybe u just missed it in my slimming, but is Jennika keeping her pants? It’s just weird seeing all these new group shots coming out and she has pants on

One thing I noticed was that Sophie posted pictures of a female turtle before and it was deemed fan art. It was an inside joke by IDW and we were fooled into think it was something Campbell did for fun. So are the Razhar and Tokka drawings clues to the future of IDW TMNT? Hmmm...
