The Grinch (2017)

Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in a remake of How The Grinch Stole Christmas simply entitled The Grinch. It'll pop up in theatres in 2017....

What about this guy? It was only 2000. Its not long enough. It was a success, but why not wait another 17 years? I love The Grinch (2000),but really?

A remake or another story? Could be either.

How is the 2000 movie? I never saw it since it came out when I was in 7th grade and I was "too old" to watch a kids movie I never cared to watch it later either since I didn't think a short story could be expanded into a movie.

That's interesting, there was already a movie with Jim Carey, why do it again?

I once heard someone say it was cute when a baby vomited on her.

I just hope it's at least as good as Horton Hears a Who.

I remember people saying it was bad back in the day but in recent years I've heard people call it a Christmas classic which is why I asked. I might end up watching it though, Jingle All The Way gets hated a lot but I absolutely love it, favorite X-Mas movie to me.

Do people not realize this is animated and not another live action version?

I was in 8th and was not too old to see it. The next year I saw it in my 9th grade English class.

Cool. I love the Grinch.

The live action movie was pretty good. I can understand if some don't like it but it was fun. I have video game which was decent imo.

The cartoon version will always be my favorite.

If I can get past the excessive goofiness that lies within the live-action movie version (since I do take a liking towards the make-up and prosthetic work that went onto Carrey for him to be The Grinch), then I might actually learn to like the movie.

No promises though.

*Sigh*...This movie's gonna be a piece of s*** just like the past 2000-era Seuss movie, isn't it?

Be kinda cool if they did it like a CGI special, blending the style of the characters from the original source material with the plot of the live action Jim Carrey version.

I am interested though I have did hear a while back that the studio that did Despicable Me was doing a Grinch animated movie. Though I would really like to know whatever happened to there Emily the Strange animated movie.

If they keep the movie to the book, and don't try to add in weird family life backstory crap, this could be good.

That's what ruined the live action one, the oddball backstory filler.

And no, Michael Bay does not need to direct The Grinch.
