I can see what you mean. The rough layout doesn't jump out at my as much as #3 and #1 (especially) but I can definitely see how filling in the details would make for a very regal piece comparable with something like the classic Star Wars film posters.

I like cover #1 more too, but #2 is also good. I guess you can have both appear, one as just a pin-up page at that back or something?

that would cost time and money that could be used towards other areas of need.

Between here and the Indiegogo page, the tally so far on the cover is:

#1: 10 votes
#2: 3 votes
#3: 3 votes

But I'm hearing some compelling cases for #2 and #3.

There's an important considerations that I think warrants attention. Which cover will be the best fit for the tone of the comic? Will it be primarily a high-energy action adventure or a more introspective, personal story? Answering that question may be more important than the contest over which piece looks the most exciting or eye-catching. Fortunately, you have that luxury since your comic won't be in competition with all the other monthlies on the comic book store rack.

The preview image you've been using on the campaign site gives the impression that this story will be one of courage and pain, one that brings to light questions and secrets for characters that have long been in shadow (consciously or unconsciously). Clearly, however, there will be some action, as evidenced from the preview images and which Lawson tends to communicate so well in his art style.

Even though I confess my personal taste skews toward the eye-popping action and energy covers, the full context of what I've seen of the story makes me very sympathetic to a more stoic and statuesque cover. Ultimately, you are the one who has the most knowledge of the project and what will be the best fit, regardless of popular opinion polls.

So the campaign is all done now, as of midnight last night my time. Thank you all for the outpouring of support and faith in "Origin"... to say I wasn't quite expecting this level and volume of support would be a huge understatement.

I believe you will not be let down in the finished product. I'll share progress and tidbits here and there, and I'm sure I'll cut another trailer at some point down the road. The existing trailer only shows a sliver of what to expect, and is only cut from a single scene. There is some pretty heavy science fiction in there, with things becoming crazier and crazier all the way to their destination... and that's where everything gets turned upside down.

I expect this to be good, both Odyssey and the Image 2-parter were very well written. It's also a treat to see Jim Lawson, Dan Berger and all the other artists contributing. Plus the back-ups like Predator and such that I completely forgot what a part of this until I read the descriptions. It will also be a nice send-off to the Mirage era for now unless PL ever finishes Volume 4.

It's just too bad this could not be officially published.

It's definitely not intended to be a sendoff of any kind, that was more "Odyssey"'s thing. Well, maybe for a few characters. It's just a big adventure in the no-man's land of the post-Volume 4 landscape.

In a couple of years we'll do "THE SHREDDER" if all is well, maybe. Full Lawson art with B&W duotones again. That would also be in the post-Volume 4 landscape, primarily.

I'm really excited to read your new book Andrew!
To be honest Origin is at the moment the TMNT book I'm most excited to read. Way more than all the officially realeased IDW books.

No, only two weeks. Besides you can contact him on facebook, his kickstarter page or other places if you need to reach him. It's not like there's no way to get into contact with him outside here.

I respect Andrew because he's done a great service for TMNT fans, and I have no idea what he did to earn a ban. But I'm sure it was well deserved.

Besides, Andrew has $12,000+ now from everyone who pitched into this project, he's not going to take the money and split.
