Sean Connery RIP

Sean Connery, the first big-screen James Bond and one of the biggest and recognisable action stars with a career spanning the 60s through to the 2000s, has passed away

The endearing face of James Bond that so many of us grew up with, and so many other roles which he loved doing, hoping to be remembered for more than just being typecasted in his famous spy role. He got to enjoy a good long retirement too. They're'll be billions of tributes pouring for this one. Rest well in heaven Sir Sean Connery.

I knew him best as Henry Jones Sr. from The Last Crusade, disappointed he stuck to his retirement and did not make a cameo in the so-so Kingdom of The Crystal Skulls. Another thing I would have loved to have seen was him meet Darrell Hammond on SNL due to the fictional fued with Alex Trebeck or at the very least read his opinion of it. However, so many actors don't ever enjoy a retirement, but he thankfully got 17 years of enjoying life after giving decades of entertainment to millions. I hope his spirit lives on and he rest well.

Man just a few days ago I was wondering how much longer he would live too, now both classic Bonds are gone.

Goodbye, sweet prince, you will be missed.

He was able to fulfill so many iconic roles.

May he rest in peace. He will forever be revered.

Well technically Barry Nelson was the first Bond in the Casino Royale serial, but like the OP said Sean was the first big-screen Bond. They both lived almost as long as each other, Barry passed just shy of his 90th.

I already see a bunch of ladies on Facebook trying to cancel him, dredging up interviews from 50, 60 years ago where he said it was OK to hit your wife under certain circumstances.

Yep, seems par for the course.

Women like them practically justify his philosophy every day.

In acting, he was probably one of the greatest actors of his time especially if you watch all his other movies outside of James Bond. A true thespian and a master of his craft.

In real life, he was probably my favorite misogynist.

I love the way you put that.

Also, WTF am I, goddammit? Chopped liver? I'm easily just as much of a misogynist as he was, and frankly I'm much better looking.
