Playmates Voltron Figures
ist it just me or does it look like Playmates put more effort in the Voltron Figures than anything in the Nick turtles current/classics line. I see where playmate's paint budget has gone.
someone got them a bit early

I wonder if a Netflix show had anything to do with it? Seems like Playmates produced better figures for the OOTS movie such as the disguise figs. Also see a dream works brand on the packaging.
Granted I know nothing about this show on Netflix or how the toy biz actually works. Just a theory that Playmates wants to start strong with these partnerships. Give Playmates some time it will go downhill. That last sentence is my pessimistic thought for the day.

They always have a strong start. Besides, these really don't look great.

Just got all my lions today! These are the ultimate figures so can't comment on the basic figures. @Autbot_Benz the black lion you posted is one of the ones I got.

Oh boy, I'm really proud of this! Strap in!
So there's 2 basic Voltron toys. One has some sword swinging action and a shield. The shield is removable and the arm bends. The legs and torso do not. Then there's another toy has a shooting arm cannon that doesn't bend and the arm has no sword. On this toy, the legs and torso can move. It also has removable wings. What I did was pop off the red arm and switch it to the body with the articulation and thought I'd do the same with the green. However, the green arm was not a simple pop out and in. There was a hard plastic with a ratchet in it to keep it firm when shooting tho cannon. I used a dribble tool and dug and drilled out that extra plastic to put in the shield holding green arm. I really wasn't sure how the project would turn out or I would have taken more pictures of the process but this was my first time to successfully make a slightly custom toy! The two different toys. Popped out one green arm just fine... But the other green arm was not as easy. So I drilled out all that extra plastic. Red arms popped out the same. You can see the slight differences in the green and red arm but I'm not at all upset about it. There's a few scratches and scuffs on the base of the shoulder but it's mostly covered by the arm. It looks almost exactly the same... but I know the differences and happy with it!

A fellow dromer found me an Armaggon the other day and when we met up for me to get it he showed me a picture of his fully assembled Voltron set that he had just bought and that thing is enormous. Really cool.
