There was a whole "you need to stay 6 feet from him, and absolutely no shaking hands or anything" edict in place (even though COVID has been proven not to spread that way for eons now), and I don't know if that was a Seattle thing, a University Bookstore thing, or what-have-you. But it was what it was. And there was a "oh god, he's seen like 300 people before me, what do I say that's not going to make him roll his eyes or want to, at this point" thing going on in my head but I said what I said and he was super genuine and responded super heartfelt. He genuinely seemed to appreciate my words and thanked me.

I can't f*cking believe that some people are still playing Covid Game as if it's a real thing. Jesus Christ, that honestly would've ruined the entire thing for me, especially because I'm hard of hearing so from 6 feet away we would have had to be awkwardly shouting at each other just to say hello.
I worked a street festival with hundreds of people on Saturday and I'll be doing another one Sunday, plenty of tables and booths and people shaking hands. I saw 4 people wearing masks and they were all REALLY fat so like okay whatever, you're at risk because your blood type is Oreo, I get it. Everybody else? Nah, nah. Sh*t is fine, man, these people are nuts. I mean I'm glad you got to have a moment and that he was so great, but yeah, man, I don't know... if I were told that those were the parameters in advance I'd probably say nah and not even go.

He had not one but two, eh, let's call them "clearly activist types" probably employed by the Seattle University Bookstore who brought him and Yuji out who professed their worry about our and their "safety" a few times.
Ugh.

That sh*t's so gay it's f*ckin' fruity.
I have no idea what the protocol was over the one here in NJ at Bookends, I don't think I still have the email. Still, it's Jersey, which despite being a Blue State is most definitely NOT full of scaredy-cat re-re's. I swear man this entire state was all "compliance" for a few weeks early on and then was like "Eh, nah" and after that Business As Usual. As it should've been everywhere. But hey, as Daniel LaRusso himself would probably tell ya, no place is actually as cool as NJ. We're super ahead of the curve, over here.

It's the people in power in these little places. Like bookstores. They get to continue the scare/theatre because where else is he going to show up on a book tour. In Seattle.

All the news places are billing this as "Cobra Kai is cancelled at season 6!" But a few things:
* We didn't even KNOW season 6 was picked up until this announcement. So this is GOOD news. * After season 3 came out the writers said, "I think there's 3 seasons left of story to tell." And here we are, things ending with season 6. * They've already said there will be spinoffs. https://www.cbr.com/cobra-kai-cancel...box=1674235935

We're going to see a "team up" that has never been seen before on the show. And fans are going to "go nuts."
https://screenrant.com/cobra-kai-sea...e-jon-hurwitz/ Given the Karate Kid movie announcement, would it really be too surprising if Jackie Chan is going to show up? I just hope it's not at the expense of Swank showing up. And I didn't even really want to see Jackie Chan in this universe.
