Zarius was dead on about this being all over the place tonally. Weird to start the movie off with that prologue only to be immediately followed by a joke about jacking a bull off. That said I really enjoyed it.
I liked the expanded mythology and the buildup to them morphing. Would've liked more Elizabeth Banks and more time with the Rangers in their suits outside of the zords. I hope this does well enough at the box office to get another movie. |

SO has anyone played Legacy Wars since it came out the other day? Thoughts on it so far?

Saw it today, it was pretty good, it takes a while but once it gets to the 3rd act, it's when the fun stuff happens.
There's a Transformers reference in the movie. Spoiler:
You also hear a remix of the classic Power Rangers theme. Last edited by TigerClaw; 03-25-2017 at 03:04 PM. |

I just got back from and the film was fine. I didn't think it was outstanding, but it was enjoyable. I liked that the audience got to spend time getting to know these heroes for a good amount of time. That was one of the films flaws though because at times it dragged on and was starting to feel a little too long when it was getting to the end. The backstories of Zordon and Rita were interesting. As for the heroes, they were not the wonderfully behaved students from the TV show. They all went through some tough times in their lives.

Caught it again tonight. Liked it just as much second time around; no more, no less. Theatre had less than 20 people in it though

I saw it 3 times now.
I finally saw the original Pink and Green Rangers cameo on my third watch when my friend pointed them to me. I might never ever know that if he hadn't shown me lol. |

The film got off to a solid start at the box office with $40.5 million. That puts it in second place behind Beauty and the Beast.

Only $18 million internationally isn't very good. Decent start domestically but less than $60 million globally in its opening weekend on a $105 million production budget isn't a great sign.
