Zarius was dead on about this being all over the place tonally. Weird to start the movie off with that prologue only to be immediately followed by a joke about jacking a bull off. That said I really enjoyed it.

I liked the expanded mythology and the buildup to them morphing. Would've liked more Elizabeth Banks and more time with the Rangers in their suits outside of the zords.

I hope this does well enough at the box office to get another movie.

They show up in a crowd of townfolk at the end of the battle and take pictures of the Megazord standing over what's left of Goldar and the Putties. JDF looks at AJJ, smiles, and raises his cell phone to take pictures. They are even credited as Cameo 1 and Cameo 2 *lol*

Was it just them as cameos. I only saw the two but haven't seen the years of power rangers to be able to spot a face in the crowd.

SO has anyone played Legacy Wars since it came out the other day? Thoughts on it so far?

Saw it today, it was pretty good, it takes a while but once it gets to the 3rd act, it's when the fun stuff happens.

There's a Transformers reference in the movie.
Spoiler:
When the Blue Ranger's Zord hits a Yellow Camarro, He says. "Sorry Bumblebee!"

You also hear a remix of the classic Power Rangers theme.

It's actually sampled from the 1995 movie

Loved the

bumble bee scene but wish he hadn't actually called him bumblebee
. I liked the movie, I wish they had spent more time in costume. Apparently they have never seen the nostalgia critics video of turbo a power ranger movie where he comments on how little they are in the power ranger suits. The putties were a threat but

I wish they hadn't been a training session.

I just got back from and the film was fine. I didn't think it was outstanding, but it was enjoyable. I liked that the audience got to spend time getting to know these heroes for a good amount of time. That was one of the films flaws though because at times it dragged on and was starting to feel a little too long when it was getting to the end. The backstories of Zordon and Rita were interesting. As for the heroes, they were not the wonderfully behaved students from the TV show. They all went through some tough times in their lives.
Spoiler:
Kimberly's big secret was that she did one of the meanest things that you could do to a fellow classmate.
Plus, they had to get to know each other and find a way to unite as team.
Spoiler:
The references to the TV show like the classic lines and the music from the first 'MMPR' movie were nice. The whole theater was clapping when Jason David Frank and Amy Jo Johnson made a cameo after the final battle.
I'm hoping to catch it again in theaters at some point.

Caught it again tonight. Liked it just as much second time around; no more, no less. Theatre had less than 20 people in it though

I saw it 3 times now.

I finally saw the original Pink and Green Rangers cameo on my third watch when my friend pointed them to me.
I might never ever know that if he hadn't shown me lol.

The film got off to a solid start at the box office with $40.5 million. That puts it in second place behind Beauty and the Beast.

Only $18 million internationally isn't very good. Decent start domestically but less than $60 million globally in its opening weekend on a $105 million production budget isn't a great sign.
