35th anniversary of the TMNT Adventures comics

While December 2022 marked the 35th anniversary of the Fred Wolf Studios cartoon debut, August 2023 marks another 35th anniversary.

In August 1988, the first issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures from Archie Comics was published.

The first issues adopted cartoon episodes, before developing original stories, including the Mutanimals. The run continued until March 1996.

I was definitely was swooped in, as a kid. Every month my mom would take me to the comic store to get (or look for, sometimes there was irregular releases) the new issue of TMNTA and the new issue of Robocop (Marvel). Magical times.

My first introduction to the "darker" TMNT media*.
Due to issues being hard to find I have like 5-6 issues (Stump Asteroid, Wingnut and Screwloose, final of the Future Shark Trilogy and Start of the Animus arc + TMNT X Archie and adaptation of the Incredible Shrinking Turtles).

*technically first time I've encountered darker TMNT media in a small story book, vaguely based on the first movie, but back then I didn't know anything about TMNT, so it were just 4 turtlemen named after artists.

Yep!!

I had another one, based on the Stump Asteroid issue.

This books were the first time I've learned Turtles names and about existence of Splinter and Shredder. I think I've seen those books few months before cartoon series premiered? Maybe a year? Don't remember.

I had that one too. Dated 1990, but I have no clue about Russian publication dates. All I know, thanks to Wikipedia, is that the Fred Wolf cartoon debuted in Russia on 4 September 1993.
