People are capable of hating things for the craziest reasons. My point is, dont't take average ratings of tv shows and movies online at face value. I remember back in 2010 on Myanimelist a lot of trolls downrating LOGH and up rating Clannad and vice-versa. People couldnt' handle that their favourite anime was not rated number 1.

And my comment about dudes rating shows and movies cuz they were forced to watch with their gfs/wives was mostly a humours comment, anyway. But it wouldn't surprise me if that was some of the reasoning behind men downrating female targeted shows and movies.

I mean, being nice is the minimum I expect out of someone I meet. I'd say most of the people I'd go out of my way to talk/socialise with are nice and pleasant. A lot of girls I know are nice, but why would that make me automatically fall in love with them? If a girl came up to me and told me I should love her because she is a nice girl I'd be like "eh what?" and wonder what made her so entitled and desperate.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. But I also wouldn't be surprised if alot of other studios joined in and 'pressured' them to take the movies down. mostly due to negative reviews, and ALSO because of spoiler leaks.

Yeah, if not Sony specifically, it was studios at large. Platforms like message boards seemingly tied officially and directly to their new movies coming out on something as "official" as IMDB where people can freely and openly discuss or bemoan them... in their eyes (and they're not even wrong) that can only do harm, not good.

But yeah, then the female Ghostbusters movie was about to come out and people attached to it like Leslie Jones were being "attacked" everywhere and things hit critical mass for Sony.
