This is a situational viewpoint.

However in public discussion/debate I would tend towards someone making a “polite point” over someone making a “correct/accurate” point if the “correct/accurate” point is delivered poorly. I tend to give a little more slack or wiggle room to the message if I think the messenger has more tact.

I’m going to invite the person in that seems to be enjoyable to talk with and let them talk about what they have to say. I’d just be listening and talking back and forth and not deciding what’s wrong or right.

In spiritual matters such as these, what one views as absolute truth another may view as superstition or outright false beliefs; "truth" in this case is ultimately subjective.
