I admit, when I saw "$40 for six figures and a spiffy box" I almost went full-blown "woman buying shoes" and said screw it based on what a "bargain" it is. But nah, they're pretty sh*tty lookin'.

I guess they might be worth it for someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend and/or doesn't have a lot of TMNT figures already. I can see less-discerning fans just wanting them as a novelty. But they're definitely half-assed at the absolute best.

Thats a lot of these people on this forum. Playmates could wrap a turd in fancy packaging slap the turtles logo on it and people would buy it

The only reason I'd actually buy these is so I could give the weapons to my figurines...mostly cuz I'm not sure how I could get the weapons by themselves without having to buy the figurines.

As an Original Playmates toyline fan, I will say it’s interesting to see the weapon rack on the right side of the repainted Splinter and Shredder. Otherwise, what were they thinking?!

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

In a way, I almost want them because of how bad they are! And I don't even buy toys!

I’m buying these simply because of how terrible they are.

It’s laughable.

Is this hitting stores too? Probably not a buy for me, but curious.

This is kind of what I expect from Playmates in the 2020s. It’s a real shame some of the molds from the original toyline burned in a fire and not those 2k14 original comic book turtles.

The only thing I really can't tolerate is the scars in the turts' sculpts, and the shade of green for their skin tone. I passed on these figures when they came around the first time for the same reasons.

Otherwise, I would be really tempted to buy this set. Splinter and Shredder look really weird, but I do like Shredder's armor, and I think I could get accustomed to the colors, except for that green.

Weren't these released in like the last 6 months? I feel like that covers keeping the original sculpts available. Also it would seem to demonstrate that whether that story about the fire is true or not, there's nothing at all stopping Playmates from producing more OG turts anytime they want.

The box is cool... but that's about it. I already have these particular turtle figures from the first time they released them and I only bought them because I wanted to show some support for Mirage style product. The figures themselves suck hard eggs. They have less articulation than the other turtle figures and their overall sculpts and colors are not great. Splinter is alright since the original Splinter figure was already Mirage styled anyways.

But Shredder. Hoo-boy. So lazy! So ugly! They just repainting original Shredder and left out his cape. It even has the mistake where they paint his forehead and eyebrows onto the helmet. Why not reissue Slice'n Dice Shredder? That one was actually modeled after the original Mirage Shredder and a whole lot better!

It's funny how tons of people bought the other set supposedly just for the box, and this box is even cooler and more unique, and cheaper...but...everyone is trash talking it?

The individual figure packaging isn't bad either.
Gotta love that "Eastman and Laird's" tag. If they had taken lazy option #2, and just threw in the original Playmates figures with red masks, I'd buy.

I buy Star Trek ships, but those are models, not toys.

...

But when I get my new desk for the home office, I'm planning to get a few Turtles to decorate it.

Playmates will always be remembered for the first basic wave of the Original Toyline. Their newer figures miss the mark.

Don't buy these.
Worth re-stating. Obv everyone is entitled to do whatever they want with their money, but I think we should try to organize and not support this ******** anymore. Fight the collector urge.
