Tomb Raider is dope, too. And the sequel. I 100% believe Tomb Raider does everything better as a game than Uncharted but for some reason is unrecognized as such.

Dude, same here. Tomb Raider has much more satisfying mechanics and the Metroid-like design and character progression add way more depth to the game. Uncharted games feel relatively the same and don't really leave much room for exploration with their linear design. I feel like all it has going for it is the high production, witty characters, and cinematic set-piece moments.

I got this a while back

And only plugged it in long enough to make sure it functioned. Played like 20 minutes of Tomb Raider and haven't touched it since.

Maybe I'll fire it up again and give Sleeping Dogs a try.
Niiice. Tomb Raider 2013 was awesome and Just Cause 2 was a lot of fun. Just Cause 3 is free on PlayStation Plus this month I believe.

I'll give all three a decent whirl at some point. It's just a manner of putting in the time.

I wasn't a fan of Tomb Raider 2013, it felt like just another Uncharted clone with Hunger Games' bow. I miss old school Lara, even first reboot Lara.

I started playing a game I bought nearly ten years ago for the Wii, Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law. It's basically a poor man's Ace Attorney but if you like the show you can put up with the short comings since it's fairly faithful to the show.

I also finally bought Star Fox Zero but haven't had a time to play it, I'm a huge Star Fox fan and can't wait to play it. I never did finish SF643D which Peanut helped me get a few years ago but other than that I've played every Star Fox game so I had to get this. It's also my first physical Wii U game I buy unless you count the packed in Nintendo Land.

Lara's new character is also much more relateable, unlike the bland porn star/action hero vibe her original incarnation gave in the 90's and early 2000's.

Lara's new model/boobs are good too. They're not huge where they were once a defining part of her design but still pretty big. I really don't like the original Lara when I think about it. The 90's had such bad treatment of female characters in videogames. I'm glad we have better female representation now.

Lara Croft is now a feminist icon. You couldn't say that about the original.

Nulara is also not a better female character. She has zero personality unlike original Lara who was smug, arrogant and confident; a badass. This one can't do anything and is too emotional. The whole "she's learning to become..." is just trying to cover up that nuLara is ironically weaker. A generic "darker/gritty/realistic" take takes a lot from who the character was and is essentially Lara Croft in Name only.

You forget that before the original Tomb Raider, there really weren't any big female protagonists (in b4 samus), she made the female protagonist mainstream in games and got tons of women into games. She wasn't meant to be sexualized but of course she ended up becoming that over the course of her PS1 games. They began to scale it back with the last two Eidos games, or at least with the last one.

The PS2/Crystal Dynamics reboot got rid of the more sexualizing parts of the franchise and gave her a more "normal" breast size and body, it was all over the gaming blogs when it happened, which of course for hits the gaming blogs did the exact same thing again when the nu TR reboot happened. Those games also tried giving her a backstory and reasons to be who she was which also kind of killed her original character since why can't she just be badass without a reason. But at least those games felt closer to the originals.

As far as the games, the originals required precise jumping and exploration which was awesome, the new ones are too guided and going through the motions. If I had a daughter, I'd rather her play with an unrealistic cartoonish Lara than a "realistic" graphically violent Lara.

I've been playing Donkey Kong Land 2, and finally finished it (albeit partially) since getting it from the eShop some time ago. I hadn't touched it in a while, but somehow I got to playing it again.

I need a new controller for my PC any suggestions?

I'm between a 360, One, PS3 and the idiot in me is also considering this PS3 Rock Candy PDP controller, I don't know why, it's oddly appealing to me but reviews are all over the place and no rumble. I do like a good D-Pad and not a fan of both sticks being at the bottom. Right now I'm leaning towards a wired 360 one since it seems to be gamers' favorite since the One while having pros over it also has cons.

Bought Axis Football 17 on Steam a little while ago, also in the middle of playing Dirt 4.

I won the Pokémon league on Omega Ruby a couple of days ago... and now it seems there's a rather big post-game. Cool. Plus, i did not expect to be able to pick starters from other gens.

I can see why CyberCubed loves Pokémon now. And did you really max out the clock in Pokémon Emerald, Cubed? O_o
