Ugh man... amazing art collection. I would love these for real. Very inspiring works there.

What's the error on that #3?

Thanks man..well this is a collection amassed over the course of years. And on-and-off collecting. My collection used to be much larger. I amassed a lot of things in the early '90s, collecting everything tmnt. Then probably for a course of like 10-15 years I didn't collect at all, focused on life, school, career, etc. I've since gained some focus and I've downsized my collection by more than half.

As for the #3 error, before it was first printed, they needed some copies for a local con. They pre-printed off 500 copies, and the tones were missing from the cover, resulting in "whiter" whites. Some people view this as the "true" first printing.

Back in the early '90s I was all about signatures when I went to conventions. Here are some of my favorites:

Savage Dragon/TMNT, signed by Larsen, Dooney and Laird. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have had Laird sign this, as there really wasn't a good spot for his signature.

TMNT Adventures Special, signed by Jeff Smith and Stan Sakai. Stan actually draws a cool TMNT back-up story in this issue.

TMNT Adventures 49, signed by Chris Allan, Brian Thomas and Victor Gorelick. Chris actually had this original cover for sale on his table when I had this signed. Wish I had more $ back then..

Usagi Yojimbo #10, signed by Stan Sakai. This was actually one of the first "b&w" TMNT comics I got as a kid, and I read the hell out of it..hence its crappy condition.

Ya man I'm right there with you. I didn't start going to cons until 2005 and those were anime cons (Anime Expo). I wasn't at a Comic Con until, like, 2007 for Phoenix ComiCon and that was when the show was still small. Now it's HUGE! Last year I saw a vendor with the Giant TMNT toys from the 90s, which I used to own Leo too haha.

But, I haven't been to any big Comic Cons so I literally didn't see ANYTHING TMNT for years! I saw the new toys for the 2003 series and then I saw some stuff when the 2007 movie came out but, otherwise, nothing!
So hats off to you, sir, who been at the right place at the right time as far as convention attending!

More and more I feel like I'm left out of so much and yet I live in Phoenix now... (which will be changing soon too... ugh).

And ya, I would consider that a true first print.
I THINK that my reissue #1 was whiter pages too... no tones... I'll have to look at it again.

I have PBBZ somewhere, can't find it

What's left of the action figure collection:
Soft Heads / Fan Clubs. Would like to upgrade some of these one day. Once again, Don needs upgraded most with a pretty bad price tag pull

Gags, Jokes, Crazy Weapons (I think these came out at the same time as the original figures?)

Leftovers. Krang and Scumbug sold on Ebay with non-paying bidders..and I just like the other 3 too much to sell.

And that is all of my TMNT figures. A far cry from what I used to have...!
Woah! Do I own a number 1 that you don't have?! :O
Otherwise a very impressive collection there as well!
I think out of all collections I have seen... which are largely toys, yours is the one I'm most envious about lol
And that's primarily due to all the good art stuff you have!

I really enjoy looking at your collection here.

I never even knew those extra weapon packs existed! Too bad they were gimmick "joke" weapons and not, like, additional stuff.
HAHA This makes me think it's pre-DLC XD

And nice toy line! I'm hoping to score Bebop and Rocksteady on MOC at a local comic store... I'm hoping the store owner will negotiate otherwise with what they are tagged on, they would run me about $100 and I can't do that.
Any of your toys there up for sale any more? Like Krang or anyone else? Or are they all that you'll keep for your set?

I just realized you got a couple signatures on those toys.
Who are they? The voice actors?

Yeah, back when I attended cons most in the early to mid-'90s, I was around 14-17 years old. There are plenty of good things I passed up, never to find again. I passed up Gobbledygook #1 and 2 for $100 each to buy a regular #2 and 3 (1st printings), something I can get easily today. Also passed up a TMNT #1 first printing for $100 on a few occasions. And, tons of original art. But at 15, those were expensive prices!

For the #3, it's only the cover that's different..the interior has all of the correct tones.

I think so judging from your collection thread! I don't have the #1 video game reprint from 2007, The hardcover 6th printing, or the color 2009 error.

I think I'm going to keep them for now, and maybe build up the collection again one day. I recently sold many of my figures to help fund the TMNT #1 1st printing purchase. The Krang is actually in pretty bad shape anyway.

3 of the figures are signed. Raphael is signed by Kevin Eastman. This one was bought this way as I have never met him. The Space Usagi is signed by his creator/artist, Stan Sakai. And Leatherhead is signed by his creator, Ryan Brown.

A few more books with signatures. Hard to believe it's been 20 years since I met most of these guys. Some of these are pretty worn as they are my original copies from when I was a kid. I read them over and over, and didn't really care about condition then.

Earlier in the thread, I talked about selling regrets. Thought I'd share my 3 biggest ones. Can't complain about the money made but wish they were still in the collection. Oh well!

TMNT Adventures #48 cover. Drawn and colored with marker by Chris Allan, inked by Ryan Brown. Sold in 2007 for $95.89.

Scratch, very close to mint condition. Sold in 2008 for $250.

Albedo #2 (first usagi..kinda tmnt related?). Sold in a lot with #3 and 4 for $600 in 2003.

I thought I'd bump this thread because I recently acquired a new camera and replaced most of the "crappy" images in this thread.

Also, I ran across these signed prints from the early '90s so I'm adding them. My initial goal was to get all the prints from the first set signed, but unfortunately I never met Eastman, Mark Martin or Steve Lavigne.
